Anybody using High Output Alternators?

Just curious if anybody has changed out their stock Alternator with anything else with more power.
Mine just died and was thinking of going from a 70amp to a 100amp.
I have three Batteries Two deep Cycle and one Starting Battery.
Never had an issue before but was thinking more amps can't hurt the charging system.
I have 1600 Watts of Amplifiers which isn't huge as far as systems go.
Any info would be great!
Should I go with a higher output this time around or just stay with the stock?

I'm not sure just kicking around the thought of going a little more powerful. Just don't want it to do anything to my electrical system! I was told it won't.

I run a 100 amp and have 4 deep cycle interstate battery's. Nope problems yet.

It won't hurt your electrical system in any way as long as the charge lead from the alternator is large enough to handle its output. Going from a 70 to a 100 (or more) is definitely a good idea.

Upgraded to a 140 amp and ran a parallel 8ga from the alt to the solenoid to handle the (potential) additional amperage. With dual batteries and a Perko I never have a problem.

I just used a battery cable to connect the output

On a serpentine belt rig the upgrade is fine. On a v belt rig, meh.

With more and more electricity demands electronic driven injection i.e. Watts used
Today's truck alternators come in both amp and temp rating
Many units are retrofitted to larger units with higher temp rating units for greater reliability
Today a 24 si alternator replaces previous units its duel internal fans keep the units operating cool while producing over a 150 amps
Comes in several mounting styles
