Anybody Pull A Parachute with their Flatty?

This was at Bullards Bar Reservoir northern Californy, East of Yuba City
The chute was pulled by a old Howard Flatty with the chute pulled from the lake shore line against the wind.
I pulled the chute with my 71 Aquacraft also

I watched some poor chick get dragged across the beach at Pyramid lake (NV) about 20 yrs ago because she tripped while running for the “take off”. I was 11 yrs old or so. Gnarly.

My sister did that when I was 12. She almost died. There was slack in the line and the driver mistook "take out slack" for "hit it". Fucking traumatized me, I remember it so vividly. She was older, in her twenties at the time. I remember my brother in law just scooping her up and running to the top of the shoreline. I think that incident made me become an EMT. I never wanted to feel that helpless ever again.

We had the wind Shift directions at take off and the chute blew to one side pretty far and Scooped up someone sitting in a beach chair and threw them in the lake.
No one got hurt. But it was funny

Well . Lol
I never did , but I know someone who did . They were successful, a handfull of times at lake powel.
But then all hell broke lose , up at bullhead one day .
The story goes .
Guy was on beach , with chute.
Flat bottom was headed down river. Not good.
Right before take off , the guy started running towards water and boat started taking off,
a gust of wind , grabbed that chute and started spinning the guy into cartwheels , head over heals about 5 times.
Now the guy , is laying In between some bushes , knocked out by a Tyson right hand .
The rope and chute is now stuck , Tangled between the bushes .
What does that mean ? The boat headed down river, Is now taking on water over the transom .to late for the knife . In two seconds the boat sunk,
Guys in flat , are swimming to shore , guy wakes up , from cartwheeling across beach , wondering what happened .
In the end everyone was okay , boat was floated back up the following day . And many beers were consumed the rest of the afternoon.
