My boy swims in Parker and Havasu every week. I asked the Vet at Novak in Havasu about it two weeks ago, she said they have had zero pets come in with any of those symptoms.

Dogs in big river three times in last month. I think if u avoid hot stale water probably helps. The dogs would rather be dead then not be allowed to chase waves all day!!!

I reached out to my vet when we heard about the liver fluke issue in Blythe. As we boat down river from there, it's reasonable to assume that we probably have it in our area too. My vet said to be sure to keep them out of stagnant water (which we always do anyway) and recommended that we de-worm every 6 months as a precaution. There is a test for the liver fluke as well. Our vet said she had no problem with our dogs being in the water.

We've had both of our dogs on the lower river since April and will continue to do so until we need to re-evaluate.

I talked to our vet here in Havasu at Paws and Claws about that. She said she has not heard or seen any cases here in Havasu. So we let our babies go in the water on Sunday to cool off after playing in the dog park. And then washed them off when we got home.

I dip my wieners in the river. So far no issues. Only thing I've noticed is size doesn't matter, chicks love small wieners.
