Looking to install in a 450-625 sq foot area with artificial grass, going to get a bid on Tuesday from a local landscaper thinking if any RD'er does this rather have them make the money. What are the average costs per sq foot now a days? I can buy a roll of dog friendly pet turf that fits the job for about 1500/1900.00, roughly 200-300 bucks for dog friendly infill, stakes, leveling sand/fill comes out to roughly another 500/600.00 so guessing 2200-2800 max 3k if done myself. Any ideas or guesses on cost from a landscaper before I get my bid?

$6,250 off the top of my head.

Are you excavating laying base, compacting with vibrating plate, sloping for drainage etc?

No Excavating, picture is before I smoothed it out, I would like to lay base to take out the rough spots, not sure about compacting since it is over leach lines (septic folks say no problem, others say be careful with compacting possibly hindering natural evap of lines), already sloped for draining. Thanks G.

I recently wanted to redo my grass in the backyard, to rip out the old grass and re-sod I was quoted $3800...my wife was like we should get turf, which I hate, but we came to a compromise and I said if we can get turf installed for even double what the sod was we can do it...so we agreed to $8000....I got 3 quotes, cheapest I got was $14000 up to $21000....fk that, we got sod...

Do they make kits to do it yourself? We recently rolled up our 35’x17’ putting green to put a weed barrier down at it was heavy as fuck. I would imagine a lot of the price comes from the installation itself.

Should be around $10-12 sq ft. Maybe little more for being a smaller area.

Systems pavers quoted me close to $18 so if a contractor is subbing it out it going to cost more.

With no excavation and no dump fees you're looking at for $8-$9 per sqft. $8 if you are doing 625 sqft. I wish we serviced that area. We do service Vegas on big jobs like 4-6,000 sqft. and up.

Badgas, thanks again for contacting me so quickly, to bad it is so far out of your area I wish I had a huge area that would make it worth your time but I totally understand. I appreciate it.

In Phoenix, some of the older areas are changing over to fake grass, and it’s killing their 20-40 y/o mature trees, because they stopped watering completely, or not enough to support a tree in one of our 120 degrees weeks.

Nothing worse than a 20-40 year home stripped of its mature landscaping, after a flipper comes in, and installs the fake grass.

Then, without shade trees, the grass is so hot, you can’t walk on it.

I’ve notice many are installing shade structures over their artificial grass. You can add another $15k to that $14k-$21k quote 😁
