Thinking of ditching the electric bg 280 fuel pump and going mechanical for simplicity on blown 572 mild boost, any recommendations?

Do you need belt driven or cam driven? I know lots of drag race guys that run race pumps. (race in the company name) I have no clue if you need a belt driven pump.

The Clay Smith pumps should support it,, depending on how much boost and horsepower. At least one of my 1000+ horsepower turbo engines is running one.

Sounds like it would be sufficient, I have seen some mechanical holley pumps that are over 240gph but they are also 4-500 bucks.

If you read their description, it says theoretically 1300 HP on gas.

As I said, one of my turbo engines that dynoed over 1050 HP has been running one for a couple of years now, sometimes several days a week, probably has gotten more total use than most people may put on a boat in 8 or 10 years since he lives at the river.

I would call down there and talk to George if you want a greater level of comfort.

I've got a clay smith on mine. 1050hp. Its backed up with and electric too each on check valves. I flip the switch for the elec to help when running it hard for a long time.

I'm having really good luck using one of the Racepumps setup on my twin turbo Daytona on E85.
