I traded for the 2016 Z06 with the Z07 pack. I am going to give it to my wife, should I change out the summer tires? If not what type of tread life should I expect? Car has 4k miles on it.

All depends on how it is driven. Normal city/highway they should last 12-18k. Remember they are probably a 200 treadwear. Soft for grip trades longevity.

Any experience with changing to all season tires? I don't think she will need the lateral grip on her way to yoga. Just wandering if the ride improves?

Slight ride improvement. Tires will cost less, last longer, and perform much better in wet conditions.

Depending on the tire I have noticed no real loss in lateral grip. Never go to the track though.

My wife switched to a different set for a track day, around town the stockers are fine, z06 has the higher speed rated tire on it I believe, not cheap every 10,000 miles. The Vette isn’t her daily driver so the miles adding up isn’t really an issue on going through tires often.

My God you spoil your wife! I hope I NEVER hear about an accident. Real easy to do with that much power under her right foot.

She should be fine. Her last toy was a 911 4s, and wanted another one. This saved me a bunch of money versus buying a new 911.

I used to get 10,000 miles out of my Toyo Proxes on my '04 Zo6.

Just be aware, those tires do age out, even before the tread is gone. After sitting a couple of years they will have markedly less grip.

You'd be OK generally speaking with a sub 300 treadware tire, but you will give up some performance. If she is going to drive it around in the rain with standing water, I'd change the tires to something more suited to wet traction like a high performance summer or all season.

When the brakes wear out, convert to iron rotors. The brake job is ungodly expensive with the carbon rotors.

Make sure it has the magnetic suspension update, made a nice improvement on ride. Those tires aren't the greatest for wet conditions.

i put Michelin, All Seasons, on my 2016. The summer tires are too sticky, they pick up every little pebble which mars the paint finish. Plus I don't have to sweep a pile of rocks out of my garage every week.

wzuber...Didn't know Bernie was in town. You must keep track of hi

keep your friends close and your enemies closer...wink/nod.:D It was on this mornings local news so basically un-avoidable.
interesting to note how he panders to the weakest/lowest common denominators tho.:D
So as to not further the OP'S good thread I won't be responding to this deviation topic here any longer.
My apologise to the OP for the detour. That's a beautiful ride and your an awesome dude for providing that for your wife, she must be fine lady.

Thank you for all the info, I was really amazed at the wear on the tires in just the 4000 miles it has on it. She has other stuff to drive so it won't be a daily driver, but hell it only rains a couple days a year here anyway.

Those tires will wear fast.

Yesterday I read an article about the union of union representatives in DC planning to go out on strike because the SEIU headquarters is using non-union labor to perform union privileged work.

You can't make this shit up, it's comical.

Members of the Office of Professional Employees International Union Local 2 have voted to go on strike against their employer, the D.C. headquarters of the Service Employees International Union, if it doesn't stop outsourcing its work to non-union contractors. The workers have not actually hit the picket line so far.

The 911 4S is all wheel drive with excellent traction and stability control.;) Much more forgiving than the RWD Vette. If she's a great driver with track experience, you should have bought her a ZR1 with 755HP.:p:D

Never got more than 6 or 7k out of any of the Michelin or Goodyear super stickies, but that included some tracking and autocross.
