Any chance of mid-lake fuel this summer??

Just trying to do some logistics. We’re heading out of Antelope early Aug. Saw mention a contract was awarded to fix dangling rope, assuming that’s slated for 2027 based on how the govt works.

Just wanted to confirm with DR off the table there’s no fuel between Antelope and Halls / Bullfrog?

Nope, no chance. The money has been allocated and it's in process. I would think you won't see any mid lake fueling until 2026 or 2027 at the earliest.

A contract was awarded only for the engineering of Dangling Rope Marina to STANTEC CONSULTING SERVICES INC. with a contract value of $433k. I don’t know many additional details of this contract but would assume the total contract length would last a year plus. Once the engineering is completed, a new contract will have to go out for the construction phase of the work. It’s very unfortunate that after 3 years since the marina was pulled out of commission that the NPS has just barely put out a contract for engineering services. At the rate that things are moving, I’m guessing it’s at least another 5 years before we see a midlake fuel service in service on the lake.

You are probably correct. I am thankful my houseboat has a 700 gallon tank. So i never have to worry about fuel. We like to go north above rock creek and the crowds really thin out much above rock creek since the removal of Dangling rope fuel docks.

I used to love to park the houseboat in Oak Canyon, and take a short run in the ski boat to Dangling Rope for ice and ice cream. Why does it take years to open a Marina? In Louisiana, we could do it in a month.

Being in a national park its even worse because they're not actually supposed to deface anything so this is how they say yeah its ok for us to do this and dont you dare let us catch you pinning your houseboat. If it was private property or maybe state land probably wouldn't be too long. If it was rez land it never would have shut down and there would also be a casino!
