I've got a weird problem . . .

I have an older double din Pioneer Model AVH-3200BT the previous owner had installed in my 2006 Tundra.
He upgraded the speakers over stock at the same time. . . but nothing fancy . . . no amp, (that I'm aware of) and no subs etc.

I had to disconnect the battery today to do some unrelated work on the truck . . . for maybe 3 hours.
Hooked the battery back up, and everything on the truck works fine . . . except no volume on the radio at all . . . zero.
This has never happened before . . . even when I replaced the battery 3 years ago.

The unit itself still powers up fine, and everything 'functions' . . . . just no volume.
I have the owners manual (basically memorized now) and did a 'factory re-set' nothing. Tried that a couple times . . . nada.
What's even more odd, is the back up camera still works fine.
Even the bluetooth recognizes my phone and will 'try' to send or receive a call . . . just no volume.

I dove into and scrolled through all the units menu settings that I thought might be related . . . nada.
CD player pulls in the cd and spins up . . . but no volume.
Even the USB port will power up my iphone.

I checked every fuse under the hood between 7.5 and 25 amps and they were all fine.
I did the same for all the ones under the footwell. . . . nada.

I know there is a 10 amp fuse behind the unit itself . . . but I haven't accessed it yet.
But because the unit powers up and operates fine minus the volume . . . it doesn't seem to me that fuse will be blown.

I'm pretty much clueless on electrical, especially car audio . . . but I've got enough sense to check the 'basics'.

it 'seems' to me that I'm either missing something simple in the units 'setup' . . . or there is a problem powering out to the speakers.

Nothing else 'unusual' to mention other than recently swapping out some light bulbs to LED . . . but the radio has worked fine for the couple weeks since I did that.

I figured it never hurts to ask on here, since there's so many peeps with skills.
I'd like to avoid taking it to a stereo shop and paying a wad of cash for something simple if at possible.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts . . . .

Welp . . . after 3-4 days, and getting a bunch of troubleshooting advice on a tundra owners forum, and even calling Pioneers customer service support I was at about my wits end.
I decided to pull the fuses one last time and check them for continuity in case my shitty eyes were worse than I thought.
All of them checked out.
So I decided to fire u the truck and mess with the menu system one more more time.
I turned the key, and the radio fired up before I could even touch it !
WTF???

Only thing I can think is maybe the radio re-set itself having the fuses out for a longer period of time.

Problem solved . . . but still no clue as to what fixed it. LOL 🤷‍♂️

Sounds like an electronic glitch. The amp in the head unit may not have been getting a signal to turn on for some reason. I've had a few stereos just decide not to turn on before with no explanation why. After diving into everything and confirming nothing had come loose, I disconnect the power for a few seconds, connect back up and bam, stupid thing comes back to life.

I had the same thing happen with the Stereo system in my F150. Sometimes the Amp gets a spike from somewhere and shuts itself down, it's a pretty common issue with some newer Fords. Usually powering down the stereo fixes it, if not, pull the fuse that's assigned to the Amp. And that usually fixes my problem. Glad you got it working again.

I’ve owned a lot of systems. Anytime I got no volume was always a fuse. I still have a system in my truck but my kids say it hurts their ears 😂😂

I even pulled the whole back panel behind the rear seat off to see if it was the stock JBL amp or an aftermarket . . . it was the stock one . . . dealer wants $1400.00 for a new one . . . that's a SHINE !
