Looking for input on this boat. I think it was a builder out of Sanger? What value would the "experts" of RDP put on this? Merc 260/alpha runs like a champ, one owner cream puff. Thoughts?

Marice Tarvan. Was glass guy for Sanger. My dad and uncle bought the very last 2 he ever built in 1981 or 82. We got the 21 and uncle the 19. Very solid boats. Been through the Mojave basin in 6ft plus swell. No flex and not one stress cracks. . Price? They were 12500 new if that helps. Lol PS looks really clean. RD could be close.

I grew up in a Tarva 21 same colors but with a 454 and jet. Big cooler in floor up under the deck. I used to crawl up there and take naps on the lid of it. Dad always loved that boat, of course my Dad thought anything he owned had an extra amount of bitchin to it. Went from that to a Cole 19' Blown flatty. 496cid built by Brummett and that is the boat (the Cole) that introduced my Dad to Brummett.

Sorry, thread jack. Beautiful boat, good luck with it.

Dude it's a running day cruiser that looks to be 10/10 clean.. What do you think it's worth?

RD
I honestly was thinking $5-6k but again I know the market is crazy... it IS 10/10 clean!

How many hours? If the engine is still in great shape and the bellows, impeller and exhaust have been done recently, I suspect 15 is in the ball park.

I know where there's a 19' Daytona on a trailer with an interior for $6K. Just needs an outboard and some gauges. 🤷 I personally think that's a steal! 🤣
You can't buy shit for 5K anymore.. Even the old 6K jet boats are 15'ish now.

Just saw one on Sacramento CL, '78 19 I/O merc for under 5K.

Anyone thinking the OG in this thread is worth more than 8K is smokin crack.

Beautiful little hulls with some great lines. Always liked them.

Yep and this was an 8-10 five years ago
Probably longer, a decent used jet boat could be had for $6k in the 90s, 2000s, 2010s for example.
As mentioned, at this point there will be some reset in pricing, but the new stuff high cost is driving cost of very clean used.
Additionally, what the market will bare given lack of financing on older used? My observation puts the all cash sweet spot at $12K for a previous $6K boat.
On average my comments apply to 21 foot and under boats.

Hmmm…I’ve got an old 18’ Nordic with a 200hp merc on it…real clean. Wonder what that would go for?

That's a clean looking boat. Classic look like a spectra or Howard. I'd say 15 easy. Nice boat and it shows caring ownership which means a lot when buying older stuff.

This is why I ask, which brings me to my original thoughts of $5-6k end of summer pricing, quick sale. Hoping it's already sold at the moment but haven't landed on a number and we started well below 15k.

The 18’s never brought any real money.

That 21 is a flipping good deal!! Someone should buy that

If it really is that mint and the owner has great records and the stringers floor, transom, compression and tanks check out id pay 10-12k. If it was a jet it would be a great river boat. Being a former Spectra owner I like it.

What else does 12K get you that would equal the fun this will in weekends on the lake. If you are ok with the chance that it could be worth $6k in a year, then move forward.

I'm talking selling, have every receipt from 1980, file is 8" thick. The definition of cream puff, fucking mint! ;) I think if I could get 10k both parties would be happy.

I like that 260 motor, and outdrive $4k. Interior, if it’s nice, is probably $6500+. A nice classic boat hull in good condition is $6-10k. Nice tandem axle trailer $5k.

I’m coming up with $21-24k. Minus any maintenance issues.

Clean. Mint. Records. Beautiful float. One owner. Ask all the money.

As my Dad used to say... it’s worth what someone is willing to pay.
