So, my step seems to work great from every door, but the drivers door on my CC Chevy. It goes down about 1 out of 10 times that I open the door. What activates the step? Is there a switch off the door latch, dome light switch?

Any clues what I should look for?

Thanks!

They are probably hooked to the door switch. Open the door and push in the door switch and see if that is how they have it hooked up, if it's not run off that switch then there has to be another switch right there somewhere you should be able to see it.

I had the same issues. Just had to clean the door connection with some electrical contact spray and it was all good. Mine was located just below the locking mech. on the door frame. :thumbsup

Thanks everyone, I'll check it out. Truck is 7 years old, they've always worked great. With my 3'6" height, the steps really help...

I wired mine up. They have separate inputs for the right and left side. You might have a problem with a loose wiring connection as well... Good luck.

It's just on the drivers side front door, when you open the rear door, the step goes up & down fine.

I like how everything is laid out so neatly. A Jeeper would have shit strown to each end of the garage and back...

That's a big negative, Homo!:D Maybe in your garage...

I can help you with your Power Steps. However, in order to get them working properly I need to have you do some basic testing and also provide more details about your truck.

Please call tech support at AMP Research 888-983-2204 option 2.

We will get them working right for you!

I assume you're the one that brought the Amp Research person here to post? Thanks if that's the case!! I appreciate the help!

Not sure if you're the one I talked to on the help line this week, but who ever it was was great, very friendly, offered me some tips.

Told me to douche the door latch mechanism with WD because that's where the door ajar switch is located and that's what triggers my steps. I did this, my steps are back to working 100%! I can now get in my truck again without a running start and the help of a phone book on the ground.

I Love my Amp Research Steps!:thumbsup

WD---a technician's best friend. Could have been a chance to break out one of your hammers too! :champagne:
