Are you in distress brother?
I'm in the same camp as angler, haven't flown mine since the steal. My grandaughter at 3 was the little girl at a tea party gathering at the capital carrying the poster , McCain go away my friend your torturing me. 13 years later interviewed at trump get together and interviewed by RSBN. they ask why I don't fly my flags? Reality is we are in a shit load of trouble and the comi's are flying the same flag!

Speaking of flags, does anyone know where to buy a decent one that can withstand the sun, wind, and it doesn’t fade?

Food for thought, at anytime in your lifetime since Obama took office has the flag been at half staff more than once or twice a year, not every chance they get now.

Mine is up every day and lighted at night.
Mine too although, I prefer to dim the lights and not scare the wifey.😎

On another note, for the 4th the wife bought a somewhat decent flag for the boat and she wanted to fly it while we were underway. The thing frayed at the edges after about 10 minutes and I stopped and told her to take it down and stow it.

She got all pouty and I had to explain the whole flag code to her. She was one pissed off woman, but the code is the code!😜

Bought mine from Allegiance. The flag is good. The non-tangle pose is a life saver. Used to have to jump up and untangle it non-stop.

FWIW, it used to be a law in Minnesota that you could not sell USA flags there unless they were made in the US. Don't know if that is still the case or even if the flags are any good, but at least MN has it right or possibly had it right.

I believe they need to be made in Somalia if you buy one in MN now…

You were supposed to burn it in the channel at the stern
Flag educate is non existent. Why I'm not flying mine, my flag is hoisted 35 feet in the air when flown, half staff pissises me off, ONCE A FRICKEN YEAR MEMERIAL DAY AND NO OTHER!

I bought a typhoon flag and it has lasted longer than any one I have had before. The wind tore too many of mine up before they ever faded.
I also put mine up higher than city code so I get a lot of wind over the house roof.

Half staff can be for many reasons. I agree with most, not all.

My friend who has always flown his 24/7 hasn't flown it since the last election . . . same with his parents.
His Dad is a Vet & twice a Purple Heart Recipient . . . they're good friends and I know they are completely disgusted with the current DC politics, (as many of us are).

I know a bit of the flag etiquette, and try my best to follow it . . . but I'm kind of wishy-washy on taking it down because of a current state of affairs in politics.
If there is something within the history behind not flying the flag that I'm unaware of, I'd be interested in being educated.
If it's a matter of taking it down for personal reasons or individual beliefs, then everyone has that right as well. But I'm curious if there's something more that I'm missing.

On my boat, I fly the 'US Yacht Ensign' as more of a historical tradition. That flag was created by Congress in 1848. Licensed vessels were actually required to fly it as a means of identification for a period of time. The Coast Guard still recognizes it when in domestic waters, but the national ensign should be flown in foreign / international waters.

I have a hard time flying my Flag, since Biden took office.. :(
I understand... it's conflicting...

I run mine 24/7.. My thought is that I support the true meaning of our constitution and our country..

We haven't got to the point of flying it upside down ... yet....

I fly mine 24/7 and it's lit at night. I'm more patriotic than most and not just on holidays.
