I can’t fucking STAND ordering on Amazon. For me it’s a 50/50 crap shoot.

Will it be right? Will it be quality? Will it show up in time? Is it the right size? Is it exactly what I want? Whatever the issue. It seems half the time shit just doesn’t work out. I miss going and looking and holding shit to buy.

Getting ready to buy a new receiver for the living room and I’m going to Best Buy so I can look at it and have someone in the know tell me what’s what.

My Prime membership renewed. $139

Fukin state of Colorado charged another $12 in tax. . . on a fucking membership fee!!!!! Colorado also charges an additional 28 cents for each and every delivery.

Delivery from amazon has gotten way worse and I'm finding comparable or better pricing locally.

Amazon & CO can both go to hell.

Unlike a few of you, I don't have Prime, so my orders aren't rushed and oddly almost none of my orders have been wrong, mishandled or have I regretted ordering them. I do spend time researching both the product and the company offering it.
I found this comment " Bezos explained that he believes “Amazon will be disrupted one day” and eventually “will go bankrupt.” OK, so maybe one day it will --- which day in which year does "One Day" fall exactly ?

i gladly pay more to not use amazon. i want to touch and feel the item and also the instant gratification of handing over money and leaving with my product. Bozo can go BK for all i care, support the little guy. try to get amazon to sponsor your kids softball team or be there when you have a problem.

Fool.com what a bunch of fools and fucktards. I've lost quite a bit of money buying their stupid recommendations over the years. No mas.

They're a publisher so they need to "publish" new ideas regularly, even if they're shitty ideas. I like the Buffet style of investing: there's only a handful of good deals at any given time, maybe there's only one good stock the whole year for you! Less is more!

Click bait article. Bezos made that statement months ago, and all he’s saying is that every company eventually becomes irrelevant.

Sure, I have to return an item to Amazon occasionally, but the selection is unreal and I don’t have to drive to 3 stores to find what I need.

Probably AI related crap. I see robots taking over people's jobs, so the billionaires make more billions.;)

So far I've been lucky with Amazon orders. I sign up prime member every time I order something and cancel at the end of the 31 day period. 👍
Just ordered a 4K UHD action camera for my race car, should be here by the 16th.

Sheesh, some of you guys are bad luck chucks for sure.
I have barely had a handful of lost or Fd up orders over several years, all of which got handled.
I tend to binge several orders in stretches then go dark for a few months.🤣

That is classic clickbait.

Yes Amazon will go away one day, be disrupted, etc. Look at the Fortune 500 in 1983. Look at it today.

Poor inventories, surly retail clerks (specially bike shops) and poor in store choices, forced me to use Amazon. If you know exactly what you want, Amazon is perfect.

I made the jump when Bass pro was out of a specific trail camera I use. The clerk was an ass and wouldn’t look at any other stores stock.

Want home, set up a prime account and now use it for nearly 100% of my bike consumables, fishing tackle, etc.

I use it for things that I can't get locally, or consumables where it is cheaper to order it than it is to drive and get it. If you are diligent and set alerts, you can find occasional deals on big ticket items. I've left alerts on things for a year+ and when the price drops from some random retailer for an hour, I'm able to snag it.

I bought a Perception Outlaw Kayak that nobody had. Same thing, set alerts, got my Kayak

I consume tons of hydration stuff, bike food like gels and bars. Tubes, tires, gloves. The bike retailer mark that stuff up ridiculously. Plus I don’t need to deal with some smart ass kid I want to bitch-slap. 😂

I 100% try to buy local and small shops when I can but Amazon is just so damn easy.
Example... last night wife asked if I remember where we got a particular dog treat as we ran out. It may have been Vons, Albertsons, Target, Costco, or even one of the 3 farms markets she likes.
$8.95 and is is beind delivered today. Gas alone would have cost me more.

I’ve actually never had a package not arrive. Ever. It’s just not knowing if the product meets the expectations is the problem most the time.

Truth. That's what will doom them with the ultra-loose return policies.

I feel same way I usually order things that can’t be found locally in stock. I won’t order car parts as there’s too many fakes on there too.

Then when something is wrong or
Don’t show gotta go through the process of talking to a computer bs a complaint line. I’m pretty close to stop ordering from them at this moment.

I agree with you 100% and I try really hard to buy locally before finally giving up and ordering online. I usually start by searching various store branches online to see if what I need shows up as being in stock or available for same day pickup. But I'm constantly frustrated by how wrong their websites are and invariably, it's not to be found after I've driven there. Of course they always offer --- oh we have it online --- nope, but thanks anyway.

I like Amazon. I paid $75 for Prime membership in 2015, still have it, and they haven't charged me for it since that first year. Music, TV, movies, shipping, all free.

😁

Amazon is a complete mess on the backside and the companies that list on Amazon are not happy with the system. I have had to start listing my product on Amazon so my customers can tag onto the listing. Most of my customers are starting to go back to eBay because it's easier to do business with and list products. Amazon has big problems with its IT programs, and it creates a lot of frustration. Once in the Amazon portal, they have a chat area for the customers and it's a nonstop bitch session about problems posting products.

Then there is this issue
A National Retail Federation survey found a record $761 billion of merchandise was returned to retailers in 2021. That amount surpasses what the U.S. spent on national defense in 2021, which was $741 billion.

Yea I know why Bezos is worried about its future.

I use Amazon for Business daily. Saves me a ton of time.

Are they perfect? Hell no. All prime deliveries is well past 2 days at this point and Amazon is reselling less and less.

We have had very few issues with Amazon and we get stuff frequently (like almost daily). The return policy is incredibly easy. I am sorry for the local businesses, but it is tough to chase around town and not find what you are looking for and you can get the next day from Amazon. In our experience, they have superb customer service.

The countdown starts on every public company the day after their IPO. The pressure to cut cost, raise prices and leverage expenses is never ending. It’s all fun and games during expansion/growth. Once that slows down shit gets real.

There's a huge Amazon distribution center in McKinney, 15 miles from me. I'm amazed at how much oddball stuff I order shows up the next day.

Not sure what Amazon you are ordering from Tank, but I order a pile and rarely have a problem? I do a shit ton of research before I order certain items though so that may be it? My wife on the other hand has no clue WTF she is doing on there and orders shit that ships from China that you don’t see for 3 months and ends up being dogshit. I just laugh at her.🥸

Just remember, Amazon is somewhat often not the lowest price and you can do better if you can wait an extra couple of days to get it. 😎

I still subscribe to the Dallas Morning News and the Wall Street Journal. DMN is a liberal fishwrap but I like the sports and comics sections. The WSJ tells me what's really going on with the world and our doddering fool president.

My main issue with amazon is ordering something and because of travel stuff. I hold off until the arrival date works for me either in LHC or California…. and it arrives 2 days early…. Or later.

Literally hundreds of orders to our house annually and i can’t think of the last time something was wrong. I select free overnight even when i don’t need it that fast.

Tonight at 5pm I ordered a 6 spline lug nut socket I need and 2 oem oil filters and oil for 2 rzrs i need to service this weekend. It will all be here by 8am.

We do return a lot of clothing type items when shopping for the kids.

Yeah, I suppose I’m more like your wife. I search for something. I see it I click buy. I don’t want to deep dive and read all the Fuckin fine print on some little
Piece of shit part or toy or some bullshit. For fuck sake, see it, buy it. It should be simple. It’s the whole “you need to do your homework” part of this whole thing that pisses me off. I go into Best Buy, I don’t need to know where the computer is made and how long will it take and am
I getting fucked on the price. I look at all the models right there in front of me, I ask the sales dude, “hey, I need a good gaming computer for my kid” he says “this is the best and it’s on sale” boom. Done and never been happier. That little example was after I ordered a gaming computer for my kid online thinking it was new come to find out it was refurbished and when it showed up )(late kind you) it didn’t turn on! This was an order from target online by the way. It’s not just Amazon it’s all online bullshit. Call to tell them
My kids bday present doesn’t work, they tell me bring it into the store you got it….uhhhh, I ordered it. After fuckery of sorting that out and finding out the computer wasn’t even from target but a 3rd party vender I took it back to local target who of course didn’t have anything similar in stock so money back. But wait, the money takes up to 5 business days to show up on the CC. Soooo mean time I rush over to Best Buy and fall
Into the scenery described above. In person, couldn’t be happier. Worked out fantastic. Actually got what I’ve been told by my computer gaming nerd friends is probably one of the best gaming laptops out there for a couple hundred more than the inferior one I ordered online from target.

Fuckin online ordering bullshit. 👎

I think it is so sad that Sears did not figure out the internet sales deal. They pretty much invented the concept in the early 1900s with their catalog sales idea.

I always make sure to click this button when searching for stuff on Amazon to make sure it’s “Amazon Prime” merchandise, the only times I have been screwed is when it wasn’t prime

I ordered a Kaasa "smart" light switch for my porch light on Tuesday, I: have everything shipped to work, unless it says it's coming over the weekend, so that shit isn't on my porch all day. Well in the shipping instructions it shows delivery times 8:30-5:00 so on Wed they show up at 5:30 and obviously we are closed, last night 8:42, I had called Amazon once before and they say oh the drivers don't see those times you are open, I was like WTF do they have that option for then?

At the time of the initial IPO volume wasn’t their issue. Once that IPO was issued and the financial & analytic nerds took a deep dive into the books it was evident it was a margin $$ issue. The goal instantly becomes driving ROI at a much faster pace than utilization.

Gotta love corporate America lol
