You guys with buggies what are you running for an air filter?
I have the intake reversed so the filter sits forward and not at the back of the car and its the big K&N in an outerwear but man does it still get dirty.

CBM seems to have good inhouse re-usable oiled air filters. I use two. They get cleaned after every weekend of use. I had a UMP, but it was too ugly. If i was doing miles and miles of dusty pre-running, would still have the UMP, but this is just a sand car now. I've never found any dusting or sand in the intake plenum.

It would be cheaper to just buy two or three extra oiled filters and rotate them on long trips versus buy a UMP housing in my onion. Those bastards are pricey! Yeah, yeah yeah, so are engines.

Yeah those things are ugly but I know they work great. Mine is mostly in the sand as well. I probably need to clean it more than I do. I will look at what CBM has. Thanks.

I use the rc2 filter w outerwear. similar looks as k&n but no oil shit to deal with. It’s a dry filter that works really good, you just have to remove after trips and blow it out. Easy peasy

Currently running K&N's with outerwears... they sit in a spot that doesn't get them too dirty, but I still clean them after every trip. Mine is having some weird oil transfer to the outerwears, that I am not sure if it is caused by factory over-oiled filters (I've cleaned them about 3-4 times now) or if my turbos are somehow blowing oil back out through the filters?? (freshly rebuilt turbos, and no sign of oil inside the filter itself, just the base of the outerwear gets soaked.

UMP works great, but does rob some HP and takes up space.

What's the breather situation? Are the breathers in that area and just wetting the outerwears?

are you referring to the breathers that come from the heads / valve covers? if so, those are routed way down next to the block... couldn't be that.

Yes, sounds like a no then. Some turbos do need oil restrictors.

I am not too familiar with BOV adjustments, but was wondering if it was not adjusted properly, and causing pressure to come back out of my filters... which is causing the filter oil to blow out and soak the outerwear's. not even sure if that is possible

driving a buggy through the dunes is a lot of of WOT to no throttle at all over and over

If your BOV ain’t working, yea it could, but you’d see signs of oil on the inside I’d think. If you are hearing it vent when you let off the gas, it’s working. I do t know if you’d be able to hear that in the dunes though.

I do hear it vent... but who knows if its from the BOV or the filters .... I will have to pay closer attention to it, or get a gopro mounted to see what's happening
