But it will do. Little camping trip close to home. Nothing like the local camping in SoCal.

Less people and trash? Only one family in a campsite instead of 5 tents set up all using the limited facilities?

or not as nice? or just not what you anticipated?

When we lived in Camarillo, we used to do less than 24 hour overnight camping/skiing trips to Lake Piru.. It was outstanding. I understand things at Lake Piru have changed considerably since then.

Less people, no trash and I suspect there won’t be any loud parties. I couldn’t even get a reservation in SoCal at the State parks. Even with my goofy days off. This was a last minute whim.

I think that goes for everywhere out there.

Contributing factor in our move. We were trying to escape the heat of the IE (weather is not always great in most of SoCal, crazy, I know! ) and couldn't get a campsite anywhere. Beach, mountains, even headed North up to Kern River . . . all completely booked April through mid-October. It was very frustrating. Too many people and not enough resources.

Glad you're having a good camping trip. :)

When I was a kid, sometimes we would go glamping at Lake Wolford. It’s by Escondido. They had a lodge, swimhole, and fishing.

The pics reminded me of that place.

I say feral cat, wife says it’s something else. Walked right through the campsite.
