Looking for some advice on tires from the brain trust. I have a gen2 raptor where the previous owner put 18" methods on to clear a big brake kit, now that I'm due for new tires I'm struggling to find an AT that isn't load range e, since 18" is the standard on 3/4 ton these days.

So far I have found 35x12.5r18 load range D toyo open country AT3 and 37x11.5r18 load range D Nitto Ridge Grappler. Does anyone have experience with either of these options?

Despite being a load range d, the 37 ridge grappler still has a 3860lb max load, more than the load range e bfg I have today (3400lb) and way more than the load range D toyo (2900) concerned it will have a stiff carcass to be able to support that weight and produce a harsh ride? I don't tow heavy or haul heavy in the bed, my primary goal is ride quality and tread wear.

Last question, anyone have a resource in the east valley of phx metro to purchase?

FYI, something that I find valuable when doing a similar comparison as yours. Problem is, most manufacturers don't offer this info public, Toyo being a notable exception.

The load any tire can carry (Safely) at the rated temperatures is directly related to it's inflation levels. As you can see by this chart on the sized Toyos you specified, that as air pressure increases, so does the weight rating.

You can see on the chart below for the size Toyo you spec'd that the 2900 lbs is a max inflation for a LR-D at 50psi --- but at 35, which would produce a far better ride on a Raptor, it's 2335 lbs. If you compare this with the Raptor's stock LT315/70R17, it's Max Load is 2,535 @ 45PSI, at 45PSI the Toyo is 2,735. I don't have a chart for BFG tires, but it would appear you could run these Toyo AT3's in a D load range with Raptor pressure settings and expect possibly a slightly stiffer ride, but with an acceptable weight rating.

I have BFGs on mine 37. If you go with 37 , a 37 spare will not fit between the frame were your spare is so you will have to put it inside the bed

Perfect world I probably want 37s, but then I have to buy 5 tires instead of 4.

I didn't bother upgrading my spare when I went bigger. I keep my stock size spare and figure I can put it on to get me to a towable spot, then call a tow truck. If I have to drive it far then I would just drive slow and stop and check on diff temps or move the small tire to the front. I have changed tire sizes twice already on this truck and never used the spare. Come to think of it, probably been 20 years since I have changed a spare tire on a car or truck. Done a few trailer tires though.,

I would also worry about re-gearing. The bigger you go from stock your gearing will be off. I have found sometimes it helps and sometimes it hurts. Speedo will be inaccurate as well.

I ran toyo open county at3 on the gladiator and thought they were great.

Im running Toyo RT trail 3712:50 18 on the f350 but im not sure they offer a c rate

A lot of folks really like the Faulkens too. They updated their AT and are working on sizes not sure which are available yet

That is helpful thank you. The tires that I'm running right now are the BFG 35x12.5r18 Load range E so I think going to anything D will help on ride quality.

Already have a rear mounted winch and the spare in a bed, do you feel like the truck is fine on gearing with a 37?

I commonly take this truck on trail runs with groups that require a full size spare.

Good call on the Falken, looks like they have a 35x11.5r18 Range C option in their AT and RT.

What do we think about going from a 35x12.5 to a 35x11.5?

You don't need to air up the "E" tires up all the way.

On my F350, run 60psi -65psi all around. Still rides like an F350 because of the springs.

I would not buy Toyo tires.

I had 2 sets that started to crack and do that "Ozone" thing within 1 year after purchase.

No other tire that I have ever bought (for any application) has ever had cracks develope like the Toyos did.

Their quality is straight up Dog Shit these days.

That's my 2cents.

I just did that on mine for the first time. Very happy with the results and look.

Did you do it on a raptor or a standard width truck? I normally like the narrower look on tires, my concern is that narrow tires on wide truck would look goofy.

Have any pictures to share? That may help

I’m running the stock size Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my Raptor, love the look of these tires, but they do get noisy after around 50% wear. Maybe I’ll go with a different tire on the next round.

Had Ridge Grapplers on my F250 and am currently running Toyos on my F150. The Toyos are quieter and are wearing better. Have had them for over a year now and a little under 15k miles. They still look new.

35x12.5x18

Originally was going to go with Falken Wildpeak AT's but they were back ordered at the time in the size I wanted. Probably will try to give them a try, the next go around.

I'm running the stock 37x12.5x17 BFG K02's (A/T) on my Bronco Raptor and I love these tires. They have great on and off-road manners. I air down to 25lbs for desert running and 12-15 lbs for the rocks without beadlocks and they perform very well. When they're due to be replaced, I will go with the same, but possibly 13.5 width if available.
I have run M/T on my '14 RAM 2500 since new in Goodyear 35's, Toyo 37's and BFG KM3 37's and the BFG's have outperformed the others hands down. Particularly wear.
I also have been running 35x12.5.15 KM3's on my race Bronco for literally decades and have no reason to change. I have run at least 5 1300 mile races to the tip of Baja with zero flats at 25 lbs.
BFG offers a 35x12.5x18 in their load range '123' which is 3417 lbs. Unfortunately, if you want a 37", the only 37x18 they offer is 13.5" in a load range E.

That 35x12.5r18 KO2 is what's on my truck now, it's a load E unfortunately.

That's fine. Run them at 35 psi cold. Almost every 35/12.5/18 will be E or F rated. Toyo At3's are D rated. Run at the right psi you won't notice a difference.

I've gone through several sets of Toyo MTs over the years, and they're hands down the best all-around tire. They offer great longevity for what they are. Last time, I tried Nitto Trail Grapplers—look great, but they're noisy and wear out quickly.

BFGs last a long time but are too hard, ride horribly, and perform poorly in wet or rainy conditions.

I switched the wifes from Toyos to Falkens, and it was a mistake. The Toyos are definitely worth the money.

They price the Toyo MT's by weight hahaha

Yeah I do run them at 35psi, I just don't need this carrying capacity and don't see how a properly inflated load e would ride as well as a properly inflated load c/d

I have a 07 classic 2500 Silverado

Run Toyo at3

I Noticed a big difference between 20 in & 18 in wheels. The 18’s are more plush.

I don’t think a D rated tire would be bad at all.

Pulled the trigger on a set of Falken A/T3W in 325/65r18 from Tire Rack. I was too in the weeds nit picking small differences in size and weight and made the call to get a well reviewed tire that was much cheaper (on closeout now that they have the A/T4W) than any of the other options. Will report back how they are!
