Long block was assembled by CHP in Torrance and motor was tuned by Powertrain Dynamics in Huntington Beach. Motor made 493hp/503tq to wheels at 5400rpm on a very conservative tune. Motor has about 3k miles, car has 109k. I have put ton of work and money into over last three years. Car sits in my garage gets driven about once a week, usually with my daughter to Cars and coffee. Included in the sale is a complete 5lug conversion with cobra brakes and fresh rearend with 355 gears and new axles. Car is registered in AZ but currently stored at my house in SoCal.

Thanks, clean ones are tough to come by. I bought it from the 2nd owner 3yrs ago and it was bone stock. My plan was to build a clean daily driver, but obviously I went a little overboard.

yeah...a tad:D

Vortech? Air to water intercooled?

Its got to be a handful with 500 to the wheels. I had a notch that ran low 12's at 114 with 330 to the wheels (stock engine with nitrous)

Someone could pick this up and go surprise new hell cats for less than 10k

Yes that's a Vortech air to water and yes it's a handful. I recently installed drag radials because it was like driving on ice with normal radials. Now at least I can put the power down in 2nd.

I always have my daughter so I haven't really had a chance to see how it holds up against the modern hotrods. I did get a chance to mess around with a new Aston Martin coming from cars and coffee. We both hit it from a 20mph roll and I wish I could have seen his face when an 89 Mustang pulled him.

Hummm. I am looking for a commuter. Runs on 91 I assume?

It was tuned for 91 and believe it or not it gets over 20mpg on the freeway. The bulk of the time on the Dyno was spent tuning the driveability. This thing drives like a stock Mustang. I also have the MSD that allows you to pull out timing if you want to run cheaper gas for some rrason

This is starting to make too much sense.

This morning I got up early, changed the oil and installed a mini torque starter.

Where else can you buy a reliable 500hp car that gets over 20mpg for less than 10k.

Nice piece! That has got to be a handful on pony wheels and narrow 16 in tires :)

Here's a link to a video I shot for an out of state guy that's interested.

Dayum that is nice! I sold my 92 with a similar set-up in 2009 and my life has been empty ever since! I’ve gone thru lots of cars trying to replace it, but nothing has come close.

I was really happy with his service. He’s a car guy and I believe he is a mechanical engineer, so he really understands motors and the computers that control them. He tunes everything from pro4 race trucks to AMG's.

His shop is a bit of a mess and his personality is a little dry, but he is very fair on his pricing and good at what he does. I tried another shop prior to his and was not happy at all
