I am not familiar with chevy lifts what is a good brand for ride and drive. It won't go offroad.

I would say CST also. I could not afford CST so I went with the 6in RCD kit. Rides good. A little stiffer then stock.

I wouldn't look at cognito. Had a 8" CST bilstein 7100's all the way around duals in front atlas leaf spring rear air bags my god it rode like a caddy.

Why??? Sorry,,,,just don't get it.

Going on a friends truck. I doubt he knows where the 4x4 button is located if you know what I mean. The shop is trying to sell him pro comp. I know they suck in straight axle lifts so I was assuming the IFS would suck also.
I could be wrong. The last IFS truck I lifted, I sold the next week because it drove like shit.

If this thing is going to be a pavement pounder pretty much anything will do. I can give you a ripping good deal on a New 6" procomp $1280.00

Thanks for the offer. If it was for me, we would talk. Since it is for him, I am going to let him and the shop work it out. I do not want to hear any crap later.

Been happy with every Cognito lift I have installed, either for myself or on other peoples rides. Highly recommond them, they are a little more expensive then others, but have never once had a problem.

I have a 6" ProComp on a 2006 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 crew cab, no problems to speak of. Also have afriend with a 6" RCD on the same truck, no issues. My last truck had Fab tech, I didn't like the kit and had a couple allignment issues a year after installation that were a bear to get right.

Thanks fellas. I gave him his options. It's up to him now. Like I said, I don't want any blame.

CST is the best lift for Chevy's. The newer pro comp stuff is nice. My brother has pro comp on his Chevy and I have pro comp on my Dodge. Both have had a ton of miles put on with no issues.

Just curious while on this topic...

Has anyone tried BDS yet? Their new 6 inch Chevy lift looks cool. I like how there's no drop down for the torsion bars.

Don't lift it, it will greatly reduce your re-sale value.

I did a 6" RCD lift on my Avalanche (installed at Offroad Unlimited in Burbank) and it was as good as stock and there was never any (any) problem and I offroaded it a lot.
