I read recently that the Black C/10 on Bitchin Rides was "Nearly a 7-figure build"....Quality is expensive!

That's a lot of cake for a Yenko. The Yenko Super Camaro (Yenko S/C) were nice cars, but they were no ZL1.

That's a stripper model too, no Tic/Toc/Tach, no console, no JL8 Rear Disc option, no Houndstooth interior.....Vinyl Top...ewwww....

It's amazing to see what 69 Camaro's are bringing these days.

Yeah, the ZL one was rare.
I would rather buy some cool cars for that kinda money. Example, Ford GT, E[Type Jag ,or a 65/67 427 Vette ;)

This is a small block Vette, but would do for me, under 100K US

The same buyer who bought this Yenko for 390K, also bought a 2004 6.0 powerstroke Excursion for 65k

So.....which RDP inmate is "Boatdriver1970"?

I'll never get it. I can understand huge prices for a limited production body design or unique engine that cannot be readily reproduced. Like old Ferrari, Alfa, Maserati, Bugatti, Dusenberg, etc. But to me a common mass produced car like a Camaro is not worth huge money just because of the options that it had, most all of which can be reproduced and put on the common used car today to have basically an identical car, just not original. I mean who cares if its original? I guess the guys writing those huge checks do. To make it even more puzzling to me, most of these cars drove like shit when new compared to today. I see much more value in a resto rod with the cool old body but a modern high performance car beneath the skins.

There’s rare and there’s rare because the cost at the time was extremely high. This is a Yenko Camaro. Don Yenko was fitting Camaros, Novas and Chevelles with the L72 427 and selling them to racers. He got the factory to start the COPO program. You couldn’t walk into any dealership and buy a Camaro with a 427 because it was not a regular production option. The rarity is because of that. I’ve had a few cars that l were produced in limited numbers but they weren’t worth shit. Another example would be a 1970 Trans Am with a Ram Air IV option. They made 69 4 speeds and 39 automatics. Nobody paid the extra 400 bucks for that option because it was only rated at 4 more HP than the Ram Air III. (366 v 370). In reality the Ram Air III was about 400 Hp and the RAM Air IV was about 460 Hp. They were rated low to keep the insurance companies guessing. These cars are worth a shit ton of money these days because of this.

Especially since the block serial number pad has been resurfaced and restamped. A 454 has the same bore diameter. I don't know anything about the physical appearance and characteristics of the two engine blocks, but the block could be any one of several dozen specs made.

That combined with the lack of detail about the extent of reproduction parts would have me looking elsewhere, especially since it has a vinyl top.

If you read the description Closely...

It doesn't have the original equipment engine or transmission.

Makes me wonder if the VIN on the car matches the certs?

Lots of questions here, to be asking that kinna money.

For a fraction of $390,000 I can drop a 427 into a 6 cylinder Camaro and upgrade everything else to COPO spec. And it still won't outrun a $20k E55 Mercedes which is also a much nicer car that actually turns and stops.

Fraction? Doubtful.
Roller 69 -10k minimum
Deluxe interior alone will run you over 30k, seats, console, tilt wheel, rosewood trim, houndstooth etc - even repros are more then a few bucks.
Well done 427 with the right internals probably 15k, decent heads 20k.
Muncies built are about 5k with all the fixins.
12b rear end with 4.11 or 3.73's posi unit 3-5k depending on what brakes you want to use.
15-20k in paint.
Ass another 20k for incidentals and shit like Shifter/Pedals, Hoses, Glass, Wheels, Tires....yea. it's a fraction!

That basic summary is $105,000.

Add another 50k to run a Roadster Shop Chassis or similar, you are all in at around 175-200k with labor.

Shit ain't cheap anymore... to do it right has, and always will, cost real money.

Must be Rallye Green.
Don't recall seeing that color around back in the day.
For fun, I looked up the Camaro colors for 69.
Before clicking on the link, take a guess how many colors.
I was shocked..
Then add in all the interior colors. That's a lot of combos...

Times were different back then.

Just a small correction dribble : The COPO was intended for dealers to customize fleet orders for things like County Sheriff vehicles etc.

The Central Office Production Order was offered to Chevrolet dealers who needed to custom-spec vehicles for commercial buyers. Typically, COPO orders originated from fleet sales to law enforcement or logistics companies that required specific equipment across a number of different cars or trucks.

Yenko was the first dealer to take full advantage of abusing the system in 67 and continued until the COPO order of 69 (9561) as GM had mandated no more than 400CI for the Camaro.

Gibb went all in with the aid of his close friend Ed Cole, the President of GM. The ZL1 COPO 9560 was created through their efforts.

The Yenko/Baldwin cars are COPO 9561 rat 427's. they were the standard L72 425HP.

The COPO 9560 ZL1 was an all aluminum version of it, weighing as much as a 302, making roughly 600HP.

I've had every E class AMG since 2001. I miss my 2005 E55 the most. It had full length headers from MBH, tune from Kleeman, bigger heat exchanger, 550cc injectors, looped fuel rail, smaller supercharger pulley. It made an honest 600 crank hp. Just shy of 500 to the tires. It was a fun car. I actually liked it more than my 2013 E63 that had way more power.

Your E63 was 518/516. If your E55 made 600hp it was not more powerful.

Most likely it felt or was quicker/faster because of the gearing and 7speed trans since your E55 was a 5speed.

I’m in the 69 Camaro market quite extensively and have been for a while. Surviving copo, Nicky,BW & Yenko’s are pretty rare.

Bring a trailer is for bored rich guys that usually don’t know what they’re looking at. I almost bought a 69 z28 in Virginia that was bought on there but had a doctored cowl X77.

That was a 60k car in lemans blue.

Lots of scammers & middle Easterner running fake cars for online deposits. They troll FB marketplace & the forums.

Lots of dudes that think their nothing special 69 Camaro is worth what a SS or z28 is worth. There’s a hugger orange blk stripe “tribute” in Anaheim. Mexi dude doesn’t know shit about it but thinks he knows what it’s worth. These fuckers need to hurry up and go broke lol! Get the fuck out of my hobby & go scam flip Hondas.

Oh no the E63 wasn't stock, not to mention it had the P30 package from the dealer that bumped it to 570hp/590 tq from the factory until I added the Renntech R1 package 696hp/801tq. Ran only on 93 or better fuel. Mixed Sunoco 260 (100 octane with 91 every tank.)

Yes the 2013 5.5 liter with twin turbos Made almost 20psi boost. The most recent E63 they made into a 4.0 liter with twin turbos using hot v technology so the turbos sit in the middle of the motor in the center. It comes with 603hp/627tq. After the renntech R1 package on it now makes 793hp/808tq.

It's a 4 matic but with drift mode it's really good at turning tires into smoke with all the nannies turned off. I think I got 5000 miles out the last set of tires..... whoops...

Went to Yenko in Canonsburg, Pa in my twenties to see all the cars, just beautiful. Wasn’t smart enough to buy one, but did buy a set of valve covers and still have them. Also remember looking at a new Cobra, was around 8k I think and still remember thinking what would anyone want that for.
