If that was a 2 door you could put a 2 in front of it.

62 or 61 rag is my dream car.

I've been wanting one for probably 25+ years or more and have watched the market climb and climb and climb. They NEVER come down in price, not through recession, nothing. 25 years ago I could get a fully restored 61 or 62 for 15-20k all day long, same car now is minimal 40-50k to start. rollers that need full restore start at 15-20, basket cases are 10k. I'll get one someday, just might be a few more years. My wifes not to stoked on the idea but I keep telling her we're getting one. I like em lowrided or hot-rodded. I'd probably have a set of Daytons and a set of 20's.

Buddy got into a 62 wagon before the prices started to climb on those. He's in it very right, he built it up full show, lots of chrome undercarriage, candy purple with patterns, nice 4 pump system on Daytons. Things pretty cool.

Squirtinmyload was supposed to get his hands on a 63 rag lowrider a while back, wonder what ever happened with that.

My Dad's deuce that I now am caretaker of since his passing in April. Mom is keeping it in the family. He bought it with paint and engine done but un-assembled. As he did the assembly he made a lot of changes along the way. Very clean car

Just beautiful.

Sorry about your father. GodSpeed to him.

No other words.

That'd make a cool DD. LS with and OD transmission, nice set of wider wheels and tires, brakes, suspension, ect ect ect...

But way cooler than rolling a new Tahoe.

I used to have a 63 Impala ragtop. Black with red interior. 327. Big ass car. I miss it. ..aka The Batmobile.

59 to 63 were my favorites. Never really liked 64 or newer for some reason.

My first car was a '62 Impala that my parents bought me for my 16th birthday. I was pissed off and refused to even drive it for about 3 months...wanted a Honda 350...lol, such a dumbass! Found out in the 11th grade that those big ass bench seats were just right for some drive in action...loved that car! Unfortunately, didn't hang onto it, wish I had! It looked exactly like this...

They'll never be worth what a 2 door is, but starting to see more and more 55 and 56 - 4 doors at car shows, and at first glance you hardly notice. That 62 looks pretty clean and will probably at least maintain value only so many around. It's a cheap way to get your foot in the door. I wouldn't go crazy with it but a nice daily driver. Also you can always try for an even better price.

I have the Pontiac version of an Impala. '64 Catalina 2+2, 389, 4 speed, 8 lug drums. Pretty rare (around 7K built). All original 73K miles car with window sticker, bill of sale, owner's manual, Protecto Plate. Car has some rust underneath but I have a complete parts car too.

I'd like to hot rod this car but it is too nice and original to do so. Going to get a frame off and repaint then reassemble. Might do a mild rebuild upgrade to the engine.

Although I am a fan of original straight spoke Torque Thrusts, this car will retain the rare 8 lugs. I have another complete set of them as well as the ones on the car. The only down side to them is that they are 14" rims which limits tire availability. I'm told someone makes 15" rims for them so I'll probably source them out so I can run bigger tires.

There was a company, Retromotive I believe, that was making 15 and 16" hoops for those drums. It's been a while so I'm not sure if they are still around. We've made a couple sets for customers, but I'm sure it would be cheaper to get them from Retromotive. Check your spare set of drums, not all years are the same, and don't change a thing on that car.

Thanks. I checked their site but didn't see any. May just keep the 14's and go with red stripes from Coker. Car may go up for sale when done. I'm in the middle of doing my 63&1/2 Galaxie right now which is basically the same car in a Ford version (BB, 4 speed, full size two door hard top). Once both cars are done I'll decide which one to keep.

Beautiful ride, just wondering what kind of wheels you have on your 62. Is the offset 20 rear and 18 front?
