When I had my wreck, a couple weeks in the ENT shows up, to fix my right ear. The top had been kind of torn off. Well, since it had been awhile, they had to do something called "debreeding". I'd never heard of it before...
Mine was neck and face, (second and third degree) they used cadaver skin that they run through an expander so it looks like expanded metal, so I was fortunate enough not to have to go through harvesting my own skin (Lucky me).I don't want to even imagine debriding of burns

I was put under once, but the second time it was a huge dose of morphine and IDK what else, I'm sure they torture prisoners with less
