Well you got 9 bucks in a shake and tip, if price was a concern why did ya tip dummy! Lol

5 guys is good, order a grilled cheese add 2 patties and grilled onions and what ever sauce your feeling, and Cajun fries hells ya, lol
The fries when fresh are bomb af, light crisp outside soft inside. If they’re sitting around pretty much same as in n out, good but boring

Had in n out tonight, double, fries, and large drink 11.47, so about 9 bucks cheaper, but 5guys fries are like 2 orders at in n out, and you can get double triple of any toppings including bacon.

Hell Taco Bell, mcds, del taco etc all same shit creeping up on 15-20 per person. Restaurants are actually less or same 🤷🏻‍♂️

and the “right on” they started doing in havasu. Teenage girl, double double, right on, and a fry, right on, large Dr Pepper, right on, anything else, no thanks, right on. Relax on the right ons, it’s no longer natural

Right across the street the line moves 2-3 times faster. But they all reply "my pleasure ".

If it was just a few minutes I would eat there a lot more. I can walk into jersey Mike's across the way and walk out with my sandwich before they get through 15 cars. Not a bad thing they "Make it to order" but from a business financial point. They could crank up the profits big time. But the owner clearly doesn't need the money. I try and get there between 10-1015 and ot only takes about 15 minutes from order to driving off.
Two fold. Jersey Mike’s does nowhere near the business as in and out.
And you’re comparing apples to oranges on a kind of way. A sandwich isnt a burger.
And I don’t think Jersey Mike’s has any drive through. 🤷

I was at work in Carlsbad ca.

Thought I’d buy lunch for the guys working on a Saturday …

It was like $90 bucks for 5 cheeseburgers and 2 large fries….

I was like that’s crazy ! Thanks Kamala & Joe…

I work in Torrance and a new Shake Shack just opened by work. Few of us figured we’d try it the other day. Regular burger was about $7 but looked like a pretty small cheeseburger. I opted for the bacon avacado burger lettuce wrap for $12.49 I think….figured it would be worth the extra $$.

Fries were $4.50….nope. Drink was $3.50 I think…nope. Just the burger for me…I ain’t rich 🤣

Ordered on the screen, not in person which was kind of a pain in the ass….got my burger and there was a shit ton of lettuce and felt super light. Tried to see what was inside and had to dig through about 6 layers of lettuce to see one tiny avacado slice and a tiny ass meat patty (smaller than In n out single) and no bacon I could see. Luckily one of my coworkers food got dropped off so I asked the worker if I screwed up ordering and didn’t get bacon on my bacon avacado burger for some reason…”nope, it should be in there” was her response. I proceeded to tear the f’er apart in front of her until she asked if I’d like a side of bacon. My response…”for over $13 with tax for this thing I’d expect it the first time but yes please.”

Overall the burger was small, greasy and not that good. A buddy got a similar burger with fries and a drink and it was $22 with tax. We all decided it was our first and last time stepping foot in a Shake Shack!

So you get a freshly made sandwich, and maybe two other people get the same in the time it takes In n Out to process 15 cars and who knows how many walk ups and you think they could speed that up?

Short of pre making them and microwaving frozen boxes or coming early and pre cooking a thousand patties, but that defeats the purpose, like for like I promise In n Out out preforms most drive through places. look at the shear number of people working compared to any other fast food place.

The line is not the problem, Maybe if they made the stores twice the size, and doubled the grill size so they could cook twice as many at a time you wouldn't have to wait.

Definitely a personal splurge once in a while.

Fortunately my family is not a fan. 😁
Our splurge is INO, and that's where my daughter worked...wanted to clarify 🤣
Everyday Millionaire tip #1321. Drive your F150 XL with steelies to Costco, order the $1:50 Hot dog and drink while standing in line with the poors for the win!
Redneck tip: Used to hit the Costco just before close, grab a pizza and head to the bar.

Right by your work is Burger city grill. Played AYSO with the owner as a kid. His Dad owns the Fantastic that burned. It's pricey but good. City slicker burger is bomb but with fries and drink probably closer to $30. The lunch box is best bang for your buck.

I sure miss Fantastic. The polish sausage breakfast burrito no cheese. And the chicken salad extra ranch were my go to. Hopefully they rebuild.

Your are close to Rudy's. Bomb breakfast. The big one combo is good for lunch.

Local kitchen has a bomb western bacon burger also by your work.

The last year friends, the wife and I have been of the opinion that a steak dinner is better at home. Not so much the $$$ but better to enjoy the meal and time together. That has trickled down to fast food. In-n-out is for sure a go to when we want it but we are very selective as it is not worth the time and $$$. Joe and the Ho have really F’d up things up!!! I hope that things go in the right direction or we are F’d bigly!!!!

@NicPaus

Totally miss fantastic burger!! It’s about 2 blocks from work and had the burger combo that was like $7 with more fries than I ever needed 🤣.

Damn fire…was probably a grease fire from all that bacon they always had!!

Been to Rudy’s and definitely good for more home cooked style meals where you feel like you get what you pay for.

We have a cafeteria at work that’s fairly cheap I just like to get off campus during lunch to break the day up some.

That Jersey Mike's is always packed. There is another 1 a block away they do that good. Probably 5 people in line and it's faster. Trust me I would eat in in out a lot more if it was faster. Not complaining about the bang per buck as it is good for the money.

Every location is different the one by my old house is a 1/3 the size and much faster. I was a regular there.

I went to this spot on way home from the River. I hit that in in out last year and it was a hour and a half. Took a hour to eat and get back on the road with dessert. They have another location next to Rocs. But the Indio one is better.

Raise the employees pay. Same guy Will takes my order majority of the time for the last 10 plus years. I am sure he is probably tired of living with his mom. Super nice guy and his lingo is rubbing off on his fellow employees. Yesterday the young lady kept saying Right on. I almost mentioned Will must of trained you. But didn't want her to take it the wrong way. I like it much better than "My pleasure "
I’ll take “right on” over “no worriessssss” 😂

Hmm have you been to the INO at Barstow and the other one on the 5 up by Magic Mountain? Those are huge locations and size isn’t speeding it up, it’s just packing more in.

Sorry, The bigger comment was sarcasm, We hit that one at the outlets and it runs multiple tour busses, we can still do a walk in to go order and be eating in the car in less than 30mins.

And they still can't figure out how to get the line moving faster. Smallest menu ever. When the line is around the block. Just start throwing patties on the grill and fries in the cooker. They could double the profits easily if they were more efficient.

My burger yesterday was so salty I almost complained. But I ain't got time for that.
I order everything no salt and and still taste the salt except more normal amount. My Boat partner's daughter works at the one in HB on Beach Blvd. She's been there a couple years and makes $24.50 hr I believe. I would rather give them the money then 5 guys.

I like Jersey Mike's, I think it is a good value relatively speaking and good fresh food. Order and pay online in the AM and skip the line and go to pick up only.

Here in North Texas, we have a small chain called The One and Only. A lot like 5 Guys but better, good service and at least half the cost. We also have INO, good but inconsistent.

If you grew up in certain places back east you'd say different . Big, soggy, full of salt and malt vinegar.
Fries are not supposed to be soggy. I guess they like soggy fried chicken as well

If the hoe wins, will she take down 5 Gays for price gauging?
On another note, I’m currently working in Lancaster and take the 138 home. The other day I didn’t have a chance to get anything to eat so on my way home I stopped at a McDonald’s in Little Rock. I ordered 3 cheeseburgers because they are easy eat while driving. When I got to the window the guy says $12.12. I told him I only ordered 3 cheeseburgers, he said they are $3.69 each plus tax. Holy McRipoff Batman! Basically $4 for the most basic of cheeseburgers. It used to be on the dollar menu. That’s it, no more McDonald’s until they start dropping their prices - so I probably won’t be going to McDonald’s again.

Every few years I will crave the 2 cheeseburger meal. Went by the other day and they had this. Sign Says $5 but it's $6. The mcchicken is $5. It wasn't bad.

For you MCDonald guys, if you get the App as well as a lot of other fast food Apps you get free stuff when you go thru the drive thru and also a lot of discounted stuff. Years ago I was doing a project out of town and used an App. I was pretty shocked the daily deals they have. Other places do that too. They just scan the bar code. I haven’t done it in years because I normally frequent local places but I’m sure it’s still a thing

Never seen one and wouldn’t bother on the name alone.
They may as well have just named the place Grads Burger

Greg will be along soon to brag about the special sauce.

I’ve stayed away from their app. It seems that their new agreement that you click on the button that you agree to use the app that if there are any disagreement like getting charged and not getting your food, you have to handle it with a 3rd party arbitration outfit. Plus you have to add a credit card to the app, not add money like the Starbucks app, so they have access all your financial info tied to that card. They say they keep 95% of that that info internal, but what about the other 5%?

With the federal debt at $33 trillion and grower faster every day, inflation is a fact of life, no matter who’s in power. Why this isn’t front and center in the national debate is beyond me. Happens every time with fiat currency. Only cure is a deep recession, which nobody wants.

I like 5 Guys, especially those fries with vinegar!

Five guys sucks, not a fan at all.

Last week Pops was over, along with our friend Ann and her 2 kids. I made her kids quesadillas, and went to this local pop-up street taco stand next to a 7-11.

I think I got 15 tacos and a burrito. $75

Tonight, same crew…so I went to a carneceria and got 2lbs of asada, 1 lb chicken, 1 lb pastor, a few limes and some cilantro. $60 lol.

We’ll eat it for a few days, but fuck.
We've been buying pounds of marinated taco meat, which is coarsely chopped flank and chuck, at the carneceria a couple of miles from us. The store also has a couple of 100 quart Igloo coolers up front that are loaded with fresh and hot tortillas de maiz and harina every 30 minutes. It's awesomeness squared.
