Hey y’all I’ve been out of car audio for sometime. Looks like the same companies are still at it with good, better & best offerings.

I bought a alpine head unit and a set of Kicker 8” roll bar speaker pods only to realize how terrible these sound without an amp.

I’ll probably add some 6x9’s in the doors once I have some cool panels made and 1-10” or 1-12” woofer when I’m done.

Not looking for perfect competition sound. Need loud over a LT4 with 3” exhaust.

Also need compact because there nowhere to hide an amp in a 71k5.

So far I’m looking at the JL audio HD900 & Fosgate T1000x5.

Any suggestions?

Jl is good. People LOVE skar audio. Alpine digital amps are good and small. I have a pair in my dually and they’re tiny but powerful.

Have you heard of DD AUDIO? American made in Oklahoma and super good folks to talk to over the phone. I believe they offer a lifetime warranty on all their products. They also rebuild other companies products as well.

Although a little less power you might look at the JL Audio XDM 700/5 . I put this one in my 2023 F250 SD recently and it rocks . It's powering 4 JL Audio C3-650's and a JL Audio TW10-1 Sub . I have not had the volume over half and it's too loud .

The JL 900.5HD is a great amp. I am about to install a Sundown Audio 2000.6 into my beater because I want a bit more of punch. The Alpine PDX's are really good too. Personally, I would look on Facebook marketplace for a PDX 1200.1 and a 4.150 as they can be bought reasonably most times. Just make sure they have the plugs for power and speakers.

Audison is a good manufacturer too and has a AV 5.1k HD that would work pretty well, but I would still want more punch for those roll bar speakers.

Audio Control is decent and has a 5 channel offering in the LC-5.1300 which I believe you can use as a DSP as well.

Sony has a 6 channel out that you don't even need a head unit for now days. Bluetooth straight to the amp. And the app has all the adjustments and EQ built in. Good for older cars you don't want to butcher the dash on for a head unit.

Shitty pic because of the sun but I already did all the metal work and have the bicep sunburn to prove it. lol!

It’s in and a improvement over stock with direct AC vents.

The damn JL audio stuff is always expensive AF! I’m leaning that direction because I’ve had great luck with them in the past. 4 mids/Highs and a W6 should do awesome.

Does anyone have a hook up on a Labor Day deal on a HD 900/5 or the marine version?

I have a bunch of BRAND NEW Focal audio equipment that I'd give you a good deal on. Overall sound quality is going to be better than any JL or Kicker equiptment.
I have 4 channel and Mono amps and 6.5" coaxial or Componant speakers and 10" and 12" subs depending on what you want.

The compact amp class is pretty impressive. Just about everyone makes one now. Think deck of cards to block of c4 depending on the manufacturer. If you want something that you can hide they are available.

The compact Rockford fosgate stuff puts. Out impressive numbers

@Cdog I spent about $25,000 upgrading my JL system in the Hallet last year and I’ve got all the old stuff left over. If you want to take a look at it. I’ve got like five JL marine slash amps sitting there in the garage along with 8 speakers and 5 10” subs. It’s all JL and I’ll make you a good deal just to get them out of the garage.
