RDP is busy as we all know, RDP ad will be up as soon as RD and I work out details.

Website is up, world wide intro here on RDP tonight for DS!

https://4kaluminum.com/

PLEASE do not call me yet, e mails are welcome and posts.

Pricing sheet is in the works along with final engineering. We anticipate a special flat engineering fee for AZ and NV, and it will not be 1G or even close. Some cities will not require this as our yet to be published engineering scales and sheets will lay most of it out.

No actual photos of a completed unit are available as the material will be in Vegas by about June 1 at the Pecos Rd. warehouse. I will post photos of production pieces this week.

NO parts made in China, most made in a democratic Asia nation that we have many years of business with, some parts made in USA.

Sales will include contractors and residential customers.

I will set up a 30 day RDP contractors pricing for all members by late May. All material must be paid for in LV, picked up or shipped by carrier.

All items, posts, beams, square slats and deco sheets can be purchased by the piece, or a package design. A deco sheet can be placed in the cover, integrated in hybrid design with slats, or used as wall décor or window covering with posts. The uses are almost endless.

Package sizes in 10' X 10" , 10' X 15', and larger, one side attached to a house, or 4 post, will be an easy order. Base attachments on concrete and in ground are in final engineering stages. We will stock all parts including custom colored matched Tex screws , base attachments, and end caps.

This is a real time in stock 60,000 pounds+ of aluminum inventory by Mid June.

This is 6061 T6 alloy, very strong and hard, not Alumawood 24 gage "rolled' aluminum.
NO plastic end caps, they are extruded aluminum, hand finished powder coated, AMMA 2604 big $$$ quality.

Five colors available. I will have a few 24" long beams in expresso by mid-June.

I do not believe anyone in Nevada or perhaps Arizona makes anything like this.
My lovely wife has 20+ years in the aluminum industry, the brainchild.

The just introduced aluminum 4' X 8' sheets are laser cut and powder coated. Our competition in sheets charges $1,700 per sheet, out contractor price should be around half of that.

Posts are 8', 10' and 12' tall. NO visible screws or bolts although a bolt at the base attachment may be required.

Thanks everyone for your interest, this has been a 10 month six figure investment for our children's future.

Let me know when you have samples available. I want 2 awnings at the house in BC and possibly a few down at the new place we are building in Ft. Mohave.

coating.

Yes, this took an enormous amount of planning and engineering to get this smooth result. Let me mention the powder coat is custom mix with a slight texture in a matte finish so it will not easily show dust a fingerprints.

On cost, aluminum extrusion products are made/sold on a per pound basis plus powder coating, shipping and import duty. Not only is this a great alloy, but a T6 temper making it strong. This is an involved process using a 3,000 ton press pushing a solid block a aluminum through a custom made die. With this strength you have the ability to secure square slats, hanging over the end by a number of feet, say over a pool. This is what makes this design so unique. All subject to the engineer.

On cost, a very rough idea for a 10 X 10' is about $2,000 contractor pricing. This can up or down depending on post height, size, and how many slats you use to block the sun. Plus ground mounts and brackets. As the size of the cover goes up, the price per square foot reduces everything being equal. Brackets and Tex screws are not expensive as we produce them, aside from concrete in ground tie in.

For those that have an interest, I would suggest measuring what you need for size and do a basic drawing and a photo of the area if you are not using a contractor.
In early June send it over to me and we will give a price quote and options. Our engineer is just 1 mile from the warehouse so you can drop off the drawing with him as I believe Lake Havasu City may want this, or see if they can use our graphs that we will supply at no cost. Adding a panel(s) is optional of course, pricing pending.= due by about June 15th in expresso only.

ANY RDP member is welcome to visit the warehouse in June as by early-mid month we should have 50,000+ pounds of material in stock and more on order. If RDP members is interested I can post a EDP opening day on a weekend, let shout out if this works. I can pick a day. We will have two built units on display in the cooled warehouse and all of the parts.

IF you are a contractor, please register and e mail us so we can provide advance info and engineering docs. The legal part, under Nevada law we must collect sales tax, one exception, contractors from out of state can supply a resale permit and fill out the NV form.

In late June we are hosting about 50 contractors at our house, so things will get very busy at that point.

The panels can be placed as a roof, the slats are actually 2" X 2" or 3" X 3" square pieces that the industry refer to as slats. The unit would use 2 or 4 posts, at each corner is our corner beam connector. The beams that support everything above the ground hold the slats with small brackets screws in from the top, or using internal brackets placed on the inside portion of the beams. Ill take a quick pix of some pieces and post. The panels can be placed on top, using smaller beam to support. You can use both a panel and slats, the internal portion of the beams structure has almost endless possibilities as it is not germane to the structural support of the entire unit.

This photo shows a 2” square slat on a 6” beam with a 4” post and beam connector. Keep in mind these are just position together with no screws on a table. The bracket hasn’t been screwed down, but this view from the top would be if you were on a ladder looking straight down from below.

Of course multiple square tube slats would be installed spaced about 2 1/2 inches apart this one uses a 2 inch slat but we also have 3 inch slats, all with extruded aluminum and caps no plastic!

you will not see the bracket since it would be between eight and 12 feet in the air depending upon the height of the post you selected

This is a photo of the beam connector slid in to a beam on the left side. This part is being patented, there’s no endcap on it now as this is where the screws are inserted through. the endcap is sitting on top of the beam to the left. These are design within two hundredths of an inch.

the beams slide into the corner being connector and are screwed internally the post goes on the inside corner and screws go on the inside the post through all three pieces securing it above.

It’s really a simple system that I truly believe two people can install. as you can imagine it took a significant amount of time to get it right. Your opinion and always welcome. We surveyed about 50 people in the last 6 months including many contractors. All were helpful.

Our goal was to have an extremely strong patio cover with the ability to use longer Lengths could span with fewer supports to the ground with a modern smooth, sleek design.

OK, got the slats, creating an aluminum trellis offering shade depending on sun position. Is the concept for the pretty panels to widen the gap between the slats then screw the panels on top of them ? Am I correct to assume, that in no case this becomes a rain proof awning, it's open air using either slats or panels ?

I'm asking as although I do not believe that your contractor support area will be No County San Diego, the product is attractive and fire resistant (Proof really).
In my area using timber isn't wise, fire being an issue and other aluminum products, even Alumawood, have a less than a desirable appearance. They look like exactly what they are --- yours appears much more contemporary, very nice looking and would improve the home value rather than detract from it.

Sorry to bug you, but you mentioned Tec screws, I'm sure one example would be the attaching the slat brackets --- are these powder coated as well so they don't rust ?

Taboma, good question.

The screws are zinc plated then painted with Sherwin Williams paint, USA made as most powder coating will chip. After 5 months of research we landed on a great supplier in CA. Paint is custom matched to our colors. They will be packaged in bags, both painted and not.

Was I right about the panels being attached on top of the slats --- wider spaced in that application ? Still trying to picture how these panels are intended or utilized as they seem unique to your product. Are you envisioning them being installed in conjunction with slats ? Say 3-4 feet of closely spaced slats, then a 1-2' panel, then more slats, then another panel etc ?

Taboma, yes. The panel if desired can be inserted into any part of the overhead lid, and slats too with beams across. A beam can be laid flat too, low voltage wires inserted and drilled for LED lights to shine below. These parts can be constructed in any fashion, just get the final OK from HH Consulting in Las Vegas. Or you can space slats any distance as they do not have much support effect, it is all in the post connection at the base. In June we are hopeful to be given a distributorship for a major metal support company. If approved we would be the only one in Southern Nevada for this company.

Although VERY costly we have made every attempt to source every piece directly, not from a distributor. On the aluminum, we are a US Customs licensed importer, importing direct from mills in Asia to Port of LA, then Las Vegas via a flat bed semi.
NO MIDDLEMAN, this will show in the value pricing.

The beams are the main support with posts, and since it is aluminum this stuff is light. I believe the entire 10' square model is around 300 pounds total.

Our home will have 4 panels side by side using 2" X 4" slats between as the panels all have a 1" border to lay on top of a 2" beam or slat. A no brainer, just screw down from the top as you go.

The remaining half of you unit will use a cross 2" X 6" beam laid flat with LED lights, then 3" slats for shade. Sort of a hop scotch or divided/Hybrid design, as you can pick and choose any color or size to be placed into the 4 surrounding beams. Remember initially panels are expresso only.

if you want a HD look, it costs more due to weight, but you can choose 6" X 6" posts and 2" X 8" beams! We will have a large unit so using this as our units support.

I hope this detail helps.

Have you guys looked into doing a solid, water tight, top? I think your panels would be bitchin for a top if they were laser etched on the bottom instead of cut through.

No this will not be water tight as we do not get much rain. It is designed to ventilate, so as the sun goes down the furniture below can cool off. If it was a solid lid, this would be a slow process and you would not be able to place a BBQ under it. This design you can.

I get what you're saying. Personally, and I know many others that feel this way too, I don't like Pergola style shades. They just don't seem to give as good of shade coverage and are totally useless when it does rain. Maybe something like that could be a way to expand your offerings in the future. It'll definitely open up markets where a Pergola just isn't desirable also.

Yes they can support a fan.

To clarify, the slats can be placed say 2" apart, this will provide between 80% and 85% shade. This system was designed for the southwest desert and arid areas where both shade and a BBQ and furniture would be placed under it. It is highly unsafe to use a BBQ under a solid cover unit.

Alumawood and most Pergola units generally use large beams standing up spaced about 10" apart so not nearly as much shade coverage. This is different in spacing, extruded aluminum, no plastic, and ability to span large distance without support. Not to mention to option of panels being added.

This kinda echos my thoughts. It looks like a bitchin product that's well designed and engineered but I think many people will want a water tight roof to give them and their stuff some protection in wet weather. You do have an advantage as being able to incorporate flat panels in to the roof structure area. Might be worth looking into developing panels that could be added to make it water tight under those panels.

On the website, you might try and get some different pictures up. On all three versions, there is only one picture of the unit installed in a yard. The first 2 are so far away from the vantage point you can't really tell anything except for that there is some sort of shade there.

Most that can't see a model in person at the warehouse would much rather see a whole bunch of detailed pictures before ordering rather than what can currently be seen on the site.

I think it is rad for an open trellis, but I have to agree with the other guys, some sort of standing seam metal roofing could make it even more versatile as a 2.0 release

We just have small sample pieces now. Beam and post pieces are so large it’s not practical to ship them ahead of time but I have three containers at sea or leaving in the next two weeks. Not to mention we just developed and finalized the panels over the last 60 days obtaining rights to 27 designs including about seven with design on our own. It’s been many 14 and 17 hour days.

As soon as I have one for a assemble the pictures will be launched and will update the website. We know it’s lacking but it is what it is for now. And yes the brochure goes into greater detail.

Thanks everyone for your understanding and patience we’re just starting the social media campaign now to get contractor interest and posting updates on RDP.

On the first one is built pictures Will really help the vision.

Pergo Soleil laser cut panels about to be powder coated. The Jungle Bush design, second from top, is about a 90% light filtering factor. These are 4' X 8' about 3/16 thick, all in expresso color.
These Can be placed on top of most any patio cover or Pergola. We expect delivery in late June at our Las Vegas warehouse. Like all of our products, a 20 year ARMMA certified warranty on the coating. Panels in 5' X 10" will follow in late August, NO ordering or lead times as we will have over 60,000 pounds of product, in stock in Las Vegas. IF you are an out of Nevada contractor, your state resale card/number will be accepted.

FYI: China dumping everything they make to beat the 25% tariff has overloaded the shipping lines, this has effected all other shipments including us. All warehouse space in LA area is overflowing, a real mess. Still looking for a early to mid June opening. Banner ad will be up soon. More updates

Thanks. I agree. Another great use for these is outside of a residential or commercial windows. Hey can we use for either shade on the window or privacy.

Place two posts in the ground and use brackets attaching these in between, either vertical or horizontal.
We don’t post pricing online, but let’s say these panels will be less than 50% in price compared to our competition and our competition is in order only, with two weeks to eight weeks fill time.
