Doesn't someone post this nearly every Sunday during the summer? It's the price you pay living ~250 miles from the water you want to boat on, that happens to be the same body of water everyone else in the metro region wants to boat on. I don't mean to downplay how much it sucks. I've certainly been there many times, and it totally blows. I'm just saying that it should be expected that the odds are someone out of the tens of thousands of people traveling on Friday or Sunday to the same general destination will likely get into some sort of accident, or there will be roadwork, or you will get a flat (or two). Work it into your expectation. Bring extra snacks and water, and TP. Make sure your tank is full before you leave.

This year it’s worse because there’s literally a construction closure (1 lane for now) that’s going to be in place for a year.

I do all the above. Unfortunately I can't live at the river.

This particular one lane issue seems to get people confused 🤷🏼‍♂️

I remember the reconstruction of numerous bridges in the past 10 years…. Hardly ever a back up. I think people just got dumber and can’t merge and keep moving.

Took us 28 mins from start of traffic to right after it.

And we left the house at 4

We had friends leave at noon and got stuck in the bullshit for 1 hour.

Tried to take national trails highway exit but it was closed.

I usually leave 7am but decided to have a beach day today.

I took dez center, which I rarely do
Average speed the entire way was under 60.
Bumper to bumper for 70 miles. Unreal.
Nobody was passing. There was no where to go.

Did the same route. The left lane was wide open other than the dare devils coming at you every now and then. 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

Yeah.
I mix it up on the routes.
Today's was dez center(bad)
To 10 (bad)
To cottonwood/box springs. (Empty)
To mecca
To 86 south
To Borrego springs
Over the hill to lake Henshaw
To valley center
To 78. (CRAP)
Home. Exactly 5 hours.

This is my Friday night to havasu route during traffic hours.

That’s the big problem one doesn’t feel like merging cause they need to pass them 3 cars and will wait to last second and have to hit the brakes hard backing everyone up. Same thing on so cal freeways.

I drove through there on Saturday heading east and it was wide open. Didn't notice a closure/back up on West side either. Why is there a closure on Sunday then? I would think they would close it on Monday morning?

It’s a permanent lane closure. The backup is dependent upon traffic.

Got home about a half hour ago from Havasu. There were 2 or 3 temporary (orange cones) lane closures and one long-term lane closure (concrete barriers). Minimal slow downs. Four hours to Cucamonga with two pee stops.

I was at work in Tempe by 10am, 3 hours door to door. Was on the water at sundown last night, leaving Monday early gives you the whole weekend.

Came back to town this afternoon. Totally uneventful. Then went out to dinner and the Flying X with some customers. Had a great time with the town to ourselves. Some of you guys must be doing it backwards. 👍

No. Four hours heading out there on a Friday afternoon would be a good thing. I was just passing along information. Yesterdays trip was about 270 miles after dropping off a friend in Upland.

I’ll blame it on the old chicks;)
Hey, that is my issue. You calling me an old chick? First time I brought my mother to Havasu when we bought our house. The wife didn’t come. First conversation with my mother was how many times did you guys have stop so your son could pee. 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
