This thing went into a Miata lol. The builder documented most of of the fab along the way, I just discovered his page and have blown an hour already.

Enjoy (be sure to check out the galleries, each pic has more photos behind it): https://www.instagram.com/chathamcnc/

Why raise the center of gravity with that silly cantilever setup.

Yeah I wouldn't do it unless I was making a rally car out of it or something that needed the extra travel. Looks bitchin though

Could it be that the suspension provides added clearance in the small body areas?

A lot going on in that engine compartment in a not-so-large engine compartment. Hahahaa!!! May have been the only way to squeeze everything into such a tight package while still running a decent size tire, wheel & brake package. IDK

I know he thinks he's cool and all...but I just leave this right here.... https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/f.../frankenferrari-v12-ferrari-308/148959/page1/

Which I feel is a step up from even Project Binky

That chassis is super rad... I’d rather put something like a shoebox Nova body on it though, not a Miata

Flying Miata did quite few LS3 swaps since 2016, The LS3 fits right in the engine bay.

You should see 3D Magic Mike's Datsun Pickup, he has probably 200k worth of work in a 1k truck. The thing is insane in it's detail work.

reduce unsprung weight....Considerably more reactive and tuneable.

Once upon a time I was a road racer and probably had $60K into a VW GTI I bought for $500...once you can afford to get on par with the competition...the next step is to try new things that the competition can't afford or hasn't thought of yet...until everyone else does it or the rule book makes it illegal, then you spend more money to race the rule book...until you get to an OPEN class where you're just racing wallets and savvy...whoever runs out of both first is the first loser. I gave up when I became the first loser with my 2400lb 540hp Datsun 240....After the first couple test days I realized I didn't have the fuel or tire budget for the game at this level...so went rock crawling and boating instead...lol.

I have about 4K into my 2004 NB Miata. Turbo is going into during this winter. ;) Much cheaper to tracking it than my Viper. It handles better too in the corners with R compound tires.. 👍 To turn the Viper as a contender, I'd have to spend money in shocks alone, that's more money than the Miata is worth. Using R compound tires would also cost upwards of 3K cdn. Friend who has a race prepped Viper runs about 2:20 on our track. We already close to that in my son's AP1 S2000 Honda.👍My frend with the Viper has a collection about 17 of them. One is a McCaan Viper that would annihilate the rest of the cars out there, but, it's a totally different animal in the 300K build, so it sits in his garage just to show it off to friends.
