21 Scorpion restoration, re-core, hull modifications and carbon fiber, 102 MPH stock 300XS

Here is a really cool restoration of a 21 Scorpion, based on the Challenger. A new core, Coosa transom, Nida-core structure and carbon fiber parts, all epoxy resin. The owner did all the work, including fabricating his own trailer. He modified the bottom by widening the pad and adding a notch. It weighed 997 lbs with the floor ready to rig. Runs 102 MPH with a Mercury Racing 300XS.

Really cool boat. He even painted it himself with Imron. Lot's of details in the article.

That's a BITCHEN re-build! If I'm not mistaken, that's also the same boat as the 21' Superboat. It's a solid performer! I love the details with the rigging tube and hydraulic lines plumbed through the transom versus bringing those items up over the transom and down through the cap. It keeps the lines of the boat smooth and clean. I was impressed until I saw the cleats. All that work to keep everything clean and flowing.....only to install rigid cleats on the deck. 🤦 Someone send this guy some pop-up cleats!! 🤣

I love the carbon fiber cockpit cover though. That's amazing!! 👍

Ya, the original boat is the 21 Challenger designed by George Linder. The Superboat was a direct copy of that and it's been copied many times over. Really good hull overall.
