Close friend got their Hummer 3 motor through Jay.
COSTCO is running a deal but Jay beat that goes the tale.

0 to 60 in three seconds
11.6 second quarter mile
300 mile range.

Friends wife is crazy about it, loves it.

Friend is fed up with his Range Rover breaking down all the time and the astronomical cost to fix it. Can be driving this for that money.

Which is something not to like about them.

It's to bad the Silverado W/T is so stripped down, local dealers have them listed for low $50k's right now. I went and looked at one and it is just to spartan.
I agree.
My friend has money to burn and solar on his home to charge it.

We're waiting on the Blazer EV SS.
Same performance numbers at near half the OTD price.
Looking forward to it.

I remember paying $33.600 for a new, fully loaded 6.1 gas 2500HD and mentioning it in Hot Boats. The DMax version was $5K more.
It put readers on their back foot with sticker shock.

Still have the truck. Shop worn but still works with power like the day I bought it.

On the surface, the 3X isn't that different than the Edition 1, but it gives buyers more options, including the choice of a 20-module or 24-module battery pack. Our tester came with the 24-module pack that, according to GMC, is about half a second quicker than the smaller battery. Engaging the "Watts to Freedom" launch mode allows the batteries to discharge quick enough to power the two motors in the rear and one up front with a combined 1,000 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. That kind of thrust hurtles the 9,016-pound behemoth to 60 mph from a stop in physics-defying 3.1 seconds. The pickup hits a peak acceleration of 1.14 g in only 0.16 second, instantly pinning you back in the seat. The quarter mile vanishes behind you after 11.6 seconds. The thought of an object that heavy moving that fast without the intent of leaving Earth's atmosphere is quite absurd. Imagine a world where an elephant can outrun a hungry lion, and you'll understand just how quick the Hummer is. This monstrous pickup accelerates like a sports car.

We tested an Edition 1 that managed to hit 60 mph in 3.0 seconds flat, helped by a 40-pound-lighter curb weight and 18-inch wheels that are likely lighter than the 22-inch rollers fitted to the 3X. Yet, at the top end, the 3X reached the quarter-mile mark 0.1 second quicker than the Edition 1 thanks to a higher 112-mph speed governor. The optional mud-terrain tires on the Hummer EV (as on the Edition 1 we tested) have a speed rating of just 106 mph, so trucks wearing those tires get a 105-mph limiter."

When you consider that the civilian version of the Humvee was born out of '80s action movie superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger's desire to have his own, the performance of the Hummer EV doesn't seem so outlandish—it fits right in with the original's reputation for excess. But WTF mode (Watts to Freedom, right?) comes with the caveat that it's for off-road use only. So, you can be as free as you want if you stay off public roadways. The 3X pickup's "normal" acceleration is significantly saner, slowing down the 0-60-mph run to 5.4 seconds and adding 2.0 seconds to the quarter mile. It's still wild when you consider the 3X sprints to 60 mph sprint nearly three times faster than the Hummer H1 while weighing two tons more. The original AM General Hummer needed 15.7 seconds to hit 60 mph and plodded through the quarter mile at just 66.7 mph after 19.9 seconds of flat-footed acceleration."

I’ve had my SUV for a few weeks. I really like it and it’s exceptionally comfortable really high-quality assembly on this which is pretty unusual for general motors. If anyone is interested, you’ll never get a better deal than finding a dealer that has one from a canceled pre-order the discounts can be $2,100 to on the SUV up to $8100 off of Window sticker, but you have to have a dealer that has one of these in inventory while they last. . Santa Monica has some and I think a dealer in Tucson does. A few others around.. for those that are business owners. This is the last year that 60% depreciation and only if you put it in your business name, can you receive the $7500 federal tax credit as it’s beyond the $80,000 limit on purchase price.

This thing is awesome in a straight line and super comfortable inside. The removable roof panels and the midgate in the pickup are all pretty slick. I poked around one at the auto show for awhile. My question is how does 11000 lbs with big wheels and tires and a high ground clearance corner and stop? I would imagine the rear wheel steering helps it but it's a lot of mass moving in a straight line at a fast speed.

Corner handling is pretty decent believe it or not and what they did to accomplish this

It has four wheel steering so it turns very accurately and very predictively. In addition my model 3X, has the 22 inch wheels which have less tire height than the 18s so it, a more secure contact with the roadway

Obviously, it’s 9000 pounds of vehicle moving down the road but if you took one and drove it around at your typical speed of 35 to 65 would be pretty amazed at how easy it is to truly dry and I have to attribute that to the electric system and the four-wheel steering.

It’s hard to believe GM actually made a vehicle so well thought out and so will engineer and the fit and finished as I mentioned before is excellent
Look at the usefulness or lack of that on the Tesla and the quality of the interior materials and how it put together on the cyber truck and look at this they’re two worlds apart

4-wheel steering is awesome on pickups - I had an 04 Silverado with the QuadraSteer package that really made that truck maneuver. The problem was it looked stupid with the narrow dually fenders and skinny tires plus the Farmer John lights on the cab. I put an SS front bumper cover and bigger wheels and tires to make it look presentable. It was awesome, I could make u-turns anywhere and not need to pull out and straighten out in the parking stalls. It was great for backing up the boat too. You just turned the opposite way you wanted to go and the back of the truck would move over to steer where you wanted the trailer to go. It was a $7500 option when it came out, but when I ordered mine it dropped to $1800 - it was well worth it. I wish they’d offer it again.

We'll look at what features are subscription only before we ink any new deal.
Super cruise subscription and Onstar and Sirrus I can live with.
Anything else will be a deal breaker.

Is leasing a better way to look at this? Has leasing taken on a more reasonable consideration with EVs?

On leasing, you might want to talk to your accountant, but GM had some huge leasing deals about 900 a month but that could fluctuate from dealer to dealer

We saw one at Hero’s in Eastvale last weekend backing in to a tight parking spot. It was very impressive and almost appeared to be doing it on its own. Watching the 4-wheel steering was pretty Awesome.

This is the only way they're going to get sales numbers. Local municipal governments are mandating ev's and I'm sure fleet sales are going to be good.

If it came in an ICE variant I might consider one. Until an EV can make it to Havasu from Orange County without stopping to charge, I'll stick with the Jeep!

Well, if you stop to take a piss and get a taco or something on the way to Havasu, like most people do and that amount of time a good DC charger would give you enough juice to make it to Havasu no problem. Looks like you can get 100 miles out of it in nine minutes so imagine 15 or 20 minutes. Google shows it’s 281 miles from Orange to Lake Havasu city it’ll do it on a charge but I wouldn’t try that I’d stop for that nine or 10 minutes. Top it off and take a piss.

Just an fyi.

The electrics are coming along but wow! What a financial beating the manufacturers are taking trying to get them off the ground and meet the required sales. Multi billion losses every year.

What size home charger are you using?
I'm reading up to 80 amp will work with the Hummer, but not real sure based on the sources..

You can use the factory plug-in cord with a 220 V outlet to 30 amp outlet needed and overnight. It’ll charge it to 50% so if you’re half down you could make it 100. Next level up is a charge station you can buy online. They’re not expensive hardwired at 48 amp that’ll go just that much faster and the ultimate being a 80 amp charge station but you’re gonna need 100 amp breaker for that charge it probably 4 1/2 hours or so. You would get that 80 amp unit if you absolutely have to have a charge overnight when it’s down to say 5% if you’re never gonna be in that circumstance, you don’t need to go over the top.

What I use is all around town I get it down to about 150 miles of range. I just plug it in overnight next morning is charged on the 220 cord. Course like most any EV you can set up the charge times you can plug it in when you get home and it’ll start charging if you’re not on Solar let’s say at 10 PM and go off at five or 6 AM. It’s all programmable. So the short answer is most people use it day-to-day driving when it gets down about 100 and 150 miles just plug it into a 220 outlet overnight and I’ll get you up to probably 90+ percent.

Gasoline catch fire too. It’s all one big risk.

Don’t short cut the charging hook up. If the breaker trips, don’t continuously reset it, thinking it’s a “starter” in a 1974 Plymouth Duster. 😂😁
