What's the price and performance comparison between this package, and twin 400s?

Don't quote me on this but I think the 825 might be a tad cheaper or comparable in price to the twin 400's. When I priced them out full retail for the twins was more.

Their speed should be similar with maybe the OB closed bow being a tad faster. But that is a maybe. I am voting for comparable in speed. But we are talking about who gets to 120 MPH first. They are both fast.

It is a Teague 825 with a IMCO SCX package. This should be a bullet proof rocket ship BBC setup.

We will find out for sure very soon.

This build actually belongs to a good friend of mine. He liked my build so much he got his own. :D We are all excited to see how this one comes together.

Appreciate the info! Hope everything is getting better with your situation!

It would certainly be an interesting shootout to do twin 400s vs a TCM 825 or a merc 860

I’ll really like to see what speeds it gets. Teague built my engine to 825 specs, I upgraded the crank and supplied the quadrotor. I think the 27 speedster is the same bottom as my 26 . I run a ITS 1.39 and a bblades 32” bravo1. I see 110. But can only pull the 32 to 5400 at 8lbs boost. Bob said I can run 12lbs, as how he tested it. But said I need really fresh fuel, so to be safe, he turned it down to 8.

Very nice. I want to see one of these or a Fundeck with (2) Ilmor MV8 570's They are a lot lighter than a 565's and should run forever. I am just not going to give up my 33 for one.

The Ilmor 570s arent much lighter than 565s. They advertised their engine weight vs the 565 with drive and transom assembly. When you add that to the Ilmor, it’s nearly the same.

Pretty boat. Looking forward to hearing what numbers it puts up. Anybody know what the Nordic 28SS with Teague 1050 did?

In the high 140s i believe.

Wasn't that Buck's 28ss with the big HP GT motor? I forget what the 1350 boat ran before the engine switch?

Edit: 151mph was the record on the 1300HP GT set up in Buck's 28ss, just looked it up, not sure on numbers with the above referenced 1050. Hey, this is Pokey's specialty, not mine :)

Yes I believe they pulled the 1300 out and it was sold and a 1050 was put in in its place...or I could be totally off base...lol

Twins just wouldn’t work on a Fundeck without serious fiberglass surgery and you’d lose the rear walk on.
At the end of the day a higher powered single would probably be cheaper and easier to build.

The Teague setup the Eliminator guys rigged in allows you to attach the garden hose to that fitting on the transom.
This fills the sea strainer and supplies the entire program with water.
No special clamps around the drive or pain in the ass. One hose connection.
Pretty slick.

Teague deserves every penny they make on that idea. Awesome

We are getting excited to run the finished boat. I saw the video yesterday of it running. It should be soon.

Kenny hit 114mph with the tcm 825 SCX upper with the SC lower 31P Max5.
Waiting on a shorter lower from imco and upping the pitch. should gain a few more mph. stay tuned!

Outstanding top end number and the boat looks great on the water, I love the color combo! But that is an SCX lower, not an SC... So in that case that makes the speed even better considering the common SCX top speed scrub.
