The 2013 Damn Dam Run Executive Committee is pleased to announce that they are requesting dates for this year's annual trek to Hoover Dam via Lake Mohave.

Please keep in mind that the river above Willow Beach is only open to us on Saturdays from Memorial Weekend until Labor Day Weekend.

Please advise the Committee (via this thread) of your request for or against any particular weekend this summer.

We need to know;

When is the Parker float?......(OD1, this is your assignment!)

When is the Bullhead float?......

When is Sierra's birthday? (RD, this is your assignment!)

When is YOUR annual 'sort-my-socks' weekend?.....

When is your Mother-in-Law's' sisters, 3rd cousins wedding?......

When will Joker's boat be water-tight? (John, this is your assignment!)

The Executive Committee will advise the final results through its forthcoming press release.

The Executive Committee advises that there is, in fact, an age limit.................you will be advised when you reach it.

Im in. Just let me know the date.

My only request is for the ZecCom to clear the weather. Last year was so windy my boat turned MilkMoney into MilkShake.:D

I guess that it means that I'm not dead yet:thumbsup Hoooooray! As far as the dates go, it probably doesn't matter to me, as I'm sure that my wife wouldn't be able to take that kind of ride.

I can't do mid-July. We will be down at the lower river for the 2nd annual Lower River Invasion.

In past years, some folks have 'caravaned' up from Havasu. I'd guess about an hour and a quarter. 15 minutes to 40, 45 minutes to Bullhead and another 15 minutes to Katherine's Landing.

Usually leave the 5 mph buoys at 10am so easily done as a day trip....albeit a long day.

Really depends on the weather. Last year it blew hard and even AJ's 33'r took water over the bow......several turned back.

No wind or storms.....you could make it in a powered row boat.......big wind and t-storms.....you need a 40'r

Yeah, its complicated as hell Shane. It might be Sundays as well but most of this group are weekenders and need to head home on Sunday. There's a 60hp rule mixed in there too......it allows the tree huggers to go up river on those giant inflatables.....

Seems like you met some of us (Linders, Davidsons, me, Sharpy etc) mid lake one year. Maybe in the all red Spectra 20 v-drive?

Yeah a couple summers ago on the old Terrible Habit, i rarely venture to Mohave, but the upper part of the lake, the river part, is nice, and much easier to get to with the bridge now open.

And, I'm told that their hearing is VERY sensative...............................:D

We stayed at CW last year and met up with everybody there. Crazy thing was that we had zero problems with the popo-noise or otherwise.

I will say that time when the group plans to meet at 11:30, you should be ready at 11:15. I was at the gas dock filling up at 11:15, and almost missed everybody. It was a quick stop;)

You'll be fine. Just slow down a bit, and take a class from 2FF before the run. He'll straighten you out;)

I'm unavailable from June 8th to June 24th. The kid graduates on the 13th, I have 4 in laws here for that 2 week period and I'll be damned if they're going on the run. I'll be busy patching drywall and fixing toilet seats that my BIL decides to careen into with his wheel chair.

I've heard nothing but great things about this run and would really like to be a part of it... I have just a few questions....

1. Where does everyone meet and launch from...
2. Roughly how long of a ride is it, one direction?
3. Approximately how much fuel would a single engine cat use... I know this will vary from each person but just want to get an idea...
4. Are there gas stops on the river to re-fuel, if needed?
5. How much more is gas on the river than in Havasu?

Sorry, just want to see what I am looking at. Would hate to be out there and not know any of these answers.

Thanks

1. Either launch at Katherines or you could tow to Cottonwood if you don't want to cross the basin. ( This will add an hour onto your vehicle drive time )
2. I'd say about 2 hours, it used to be an hour when Tom had the Howard.;)
3. 45 to 50 gallons
4. Yes, one at Cottonwood and then one before you get to the dam.
5. ?

1. Where does everyone meet and launch from... The beer garden in front of Kathrine's Landing is the party spot. Stay there.
2. Roughly how long of a ride is it, one direction? + - 70 miles.
3. Approximately how much fuel would a single engine cat use... I know this will vary from each person but just want to get an idea... How much wood can a wood chuck...
4. Are there gas stops on the river to re-fuel, if needed? Willow Beach has 91. I checked the first year but I never need to get any.
5. How much more is gas on the river than in Havasu? See answer #3.:D You can call Willow Beach and they will give you the current fuel prices.

Sorry, just want to see what I am looking at. Would hate to be out there and not know any of these answers.

Thanks LF and Joker... I hope we can make it this year... LF, The whole weekend at Monster Bash I use a full tank of gas... This in includes running it hard on the lunch run and on the poker run... Estimating what you use during the weekend and what you use on the Damn Run approximately the same amount of gas or which event do you use more... We pretty much ran this last Monster Bash together so it will give me a good idea...
