Hi all, I have been looking for sale values on my low miles (143k), pristine 2008 GMC 2500 HD Sierra SLE that I bought Aug. 2023. The truck was hit back in Sept. on the way to the pits @ Bayfair San Diego. I've not been very successful in finding comparables for my insurance claim. The body shop I took it to priced the repairs at $23k so insurance is totaling it. I am looking to find comparables in the $30k plus if possible.
Also, a couple months back there was a thread about insurance claims I believe and there was mention of services that will help you get more money from your claim for about $500.00 Does anybody know who those services are, how to contact them?
Thank you for any help you may have to offer.

Hold up... what a minute... You can't just post pictures of a truck looking like it taking on a light pole and only offer you were hit heading to the pits at Bayfair. WTF is going on in those pictures???????????????😂

well, it's quite the story.........
Here goes, It's 6am Friday the 13th and we roll out of the hotel to head to the pits. We stop at a Chevron station to fuel up the Jugs for the boat, grab some crappy coffee-n-shit to tied us over until the race course food vendors open and we can get some decent grub. Abt. 6:30a We roll outa there and are heading so. on Ingraham St. to the pits. It's over cast and on the verge of drizzling, the flat flat but visibilty clear. The streets are basically empty. My step son's driving, my wife in the passenger seat and I'm in the back seat with Meatball (our 95# pitti.) petting and talking to him. Ingraham is a 4 lane road, two ea. direction. We were the only vehicle in the left so. bound lanes. We were all calm/chill and waking up and in no hurry as we were right on schedule. We were rolling about 35mph, below the speed limit. We're approaching a cross street and the offending vehicle is approaching from the opposing direction. There's a left turn lane on N. bound lanes and this 26yr. old stupid bitch swerves into the turn lane and attempts to beat us to/thru the intersecton. My step son see's what's occurring and begins swerving to the right to no avail. This girl taggs us in the lt. front wheel and drives down the side of my new to me, pristine truck to the rear wheel leaving a portion of her plastic bumper cover stabbed thru the bead of my rear tire, It's hissing air. After sliding off the front tire she pushes the bottom of the fender well in and towards the dr. door preventing it from opening. I quickly go from calm, peaceful to WTF and enraged. I'm frantically trying to get out and go after this dipshit that hit us but the of course the fucking door is locked from the stupid auto-locks. I start yelling...wtf....let me out, let me out. Finally, Nick hits the un-lock button and I go flying out my door charging toward them now highly stressed/irate (un-aware it was a girl/guy etc. driving) and meatball is right behind me not sure wtf is happening. My wife exits the truck and grabs meatball and immediately leashes him as he's heading to piss on a tree or something cuz something smells distinctly female close by and by god he's not missing out here. I'm yelling what the fuck is wrong you as I charge toward them. They had pulled over to the curb (grey mazda beyond my truck in pix) and got out to address us. The girl/driver is thin, petit, cutish, her boyfriend (?) passenger not much bigger and he's remaining calm with an oh shit look on his face. She's apologizing profusely and saying its her fault etc. Her friend's remaining quiet and just assessing what's coming his way. Their calm response and her claiming responsibility went a long way to me calming. Meanwhile, as all this is transpiring, Nicks still attempting to exit the truck, doors bound up on the fender and he's starting to go hi stress mode because he knows I'm off the chart psycho, he doesn't know who they are and pretty sure I'm going to massacre them and he's got to stop me or back me up depending on the situation. His only exit option is out the window so he dukes of hazards out the window and comes charging around the back of the truck. By this time I'm calming down some and he can chill a bit. I'm now yelling at them, we're fucked, we're fucked, you just fucked our whole race weekend. after a minute or two of this I switch to how to deal with this new problem. My wife addresses the girl and begins to get/exchange info., call the police to get a report going etc. The girls male friend is now asking what he can do to help out here? What do you need? Can I get you a vehicle to get you to your destination? Being caught up in reaction I'm thinking to myself wtf? Who do you think you are, the fixer? lol (Actually, it was kinda cool of him despite the sitch) I return to my truck and start assessing the damage, is it driveable? Rear tire still hissing gunna have to swap the spare in. I look underneath the front suspension and see the inner tie-rod is popped out of it's socket. Fuck, we're done here, now wtf we gunna do? We gotta get to the pits asap. Times burning and I have a drivers meeting rapidly approaching at 8am. sharp and we're 5, 10? miles away from the pits.
I'll leave you with for now as we're going truck shopping to see if I'm gunna step up to a newer truck or stay with the repair on my GMC and stay away from the modern emissions/ def trap trucks. See ya in a couple hours. Do I stay with GM or switch to the dark side of FORD? Hmmmmm

Sorry, no.
The release of liability says less due to registration.

If you go with the newer one, my 2023 F250 diesel has been 100% flawless. It just turned a year old was 17,500 miles.. biggest improvement. The last few years was the engine power and the 10 speed transmission changed everything. If you have cold nights, make sure you get the optional electric cabin heater. It’s automatic you know diesel take forever to heat up. It starts heating the cabin within one minute.

continuing on to the conclusion:
With the truck undrivable we now have no way to get to the pits, get the boat out of the enclosed trailer and get it race ready, get to the drivers meeting, launch/recover the boat for practice, racing for the weekend etc. or even get all this shit home...........yep, we're pretty fucked now. All our lake testing, race weekend prep., hotel room reservations for crew and friends, entry fees, travel expenses, food shopping for crew, sponsors, friends etc. etc. all for nothing because this stupid little chick had to attempt to turn left before we got through the intersection. What could possible be sooo important that she would risk going head on with a 8000# truck traveling 35mph with her little 3200# mazda x5 car? We were the only 2 vehicles on the road at that moment in time. We would've likely crushed her (and possibly her passenger) like a tomato due the height of my truck and low, ramp like shape of her car. That would've been devastating to everyone involved there. Weekend over for certain.
All this has transpired in about 10 minutes. As I continue into the urgent resolution phase I recall Nicks Ram 1500 truck is a couple miles away at the hotel and his ebike is in the back of my truck. I then ask him to hop on his bike and ride back to the hotel to retrieve his truck so we can transfer all the tools etc. in the bed of my truck and continue to the race pits. He agree's, hops on his bike and rides off to the hotel. Next my wife brings little missy's expired insurance card to me.........fuckin awesome.....go figure. This little twit has such quality judgement she's a 26 yr old. without insurance. I then call my insurance co. to start that process. A few minutes latter a SDPD officer arrives and begins his process.....like asking questions..........like, who was driving what happened etc., the typical stuff.
When he came to us he was a little confused when we replied " Nick ran back to the hotel to get his truck and return here so we can get to the pits asap" Ya know, cuz that's the only thing that mattered to me in that moment. lol Mr LEO calmly sez.........wait, your driver's not here? Your driver left the scene of the accident? To which I replied matter of factly, as though it was no big deal, yes, we were on our way to the race pit when this happened and we have to get to races asap.....lol
After a minute of that and many reasurances from us and the other party, he accepted that Nick was coming back, all would be ok and we could wrap this up pretty quickly. Fortunately he was cool and my wife spoke with him mostly until Nick returned and I prepared to evacuate everything from my truck as it was going to a tow yard (where there's lots of thieving hands,) and get stuff ready to transfer to his truck. Nick returns and begins his interrogation process and subsequent lecture from Mr. LEO haha and the rest of us begin the transfer process. As this is transpiring I'm realising how cool it is that the peeps that wrecked us were as intent and helpful as ourselves in getting on to the races and getting on with our weekend. Shortly there after the truck was loaded on the flat bed, we were loaded into nicks truck, the telephone pole stayed put and we all drove off to continue with our lives. We made it to the pits at about 7:45am, just enough time to catch our breath, begin the process of unlocking and preparing to unload the boat when I fully realize the gravity of what has just transpired and that I still have to figure out a good bit of shit, mostly how the hell to get this program home in 2 days...... on Sunday night.
As the call for the drivers meeting came over the P.A. system I asked my wife to start calling around to car rental co's. in the area to see if we could find a truck to rent. She found a suitable truck at Enterprise up in Kearny Mesa about 25 min. away so after the drivers meeting we all loaded up into Nicks truck again and headed off to get the rental truck while our class's 1st. round of testing went on without us putting us behind the 8 ball even more, however we were able to make the last round of testing for the day only to discover we had an unknown elec./ ignition or possibly fuel delivery problem that didn't exist 2 weeks ago at testing. Oh the fun we had with that. The rest of the weekend wasn't much better as we struggled to solve this new problem. We managed to resolve our ignition issue early Sat. morning by swapping in the spare dist. and salvaged the weekend but struggled to slow the boat down enough to make qualifying heats.
All this stress, frustration and grief just because some little twit chick couldn't wait 10 seconds for us to pass on by thru the intersection before she made her left turn. Now to get my truck fixed or replaced. So much wasted time, energy money etc. over 1 simple decision that would seem obvious to the rest of us.
I hope you enjoyed this little story.
