My son bought one identical to this. 6.2 aluminum engine. Tranny was replaced at 100k miles. Truck has 120k miles now. One old owner truck. Paid US $6000 for it. Has every bells and whistles .Anyone here had one?

It will have medium duty towing our track cars on our 18' car hauler flat deck. It has the 343 rear end hence the low 7600lbs tow capacity rating. Truck has 403HP though.

He should love it. No problem towing a 20’ Baja boat. Mine is slowly dying though. The heated and cooling seats went out. Too expensive to fix. Got a rear suspension problem where I can’t take off trailer wheel so it’s going in soon before boating season. Did you notice the color shift paint? Looks green at dusk.

Yeah, the colour shift is cool. Reminds me of the Mystic Cobra. Son's truck also has an issue with the rear levelling [ could be the compressor, easy fix and not too expensive. He may even swap it out to standard shock. My 03 Navigator had leveling system on all four wheels and never gave me any problem:).

The leveling system is easy to fix. Compressors are pretty cheap and easy to swap, rear shocks swap easily too. Did my friends Yukon Denali earlier this year.

The 6.2 will tow that loaded race car trailer just fine.

Had a 2004 EXT new that at 150k only ever replaced brakes at 100K, battery and a water pump. Pulled a 28 Eliminator Eagle with ease. Best truck ever owned, then it was stolen ,
Bought a 2012 EXT with 30K miles that was pitiful. Interior started falling apart, air bags and pumps replaced before 100K, electrical problems.....then it was stolen, but it also pulled my 28 Fundeck well. Of course both times they had to wait until I had them paid off .
It seemed to me the newer it was the less quality there was. Now I drive a Ford :)
The EXT was discontinued in 2013 and is needed for parts or cruisin in Mexico.

It will serve you well and I like the price. :)

Yaauuup..
A few bucks spent @ RockAuto and she'll be good in the suspension department..

For a willing young man I think it is a score.
Did he find it on his own? If so, Double score.

He always seemed interested in them because the truck's multipurpose design. He could load his offroad bike and maybe even a small all terrain vehicle his girlfriend likes. My son is buddy with the son of local GM dealership owner. They called him about the truck they were going to auction it off. They told him he can have the truck for what they gave the new truck owner for it.There isn't a scratch or dent on the body, needs some simple green to clean up the engine bay.
Oh, he has two sets of aftermarket 22 wheels and tires he is going to sell, trying to find OEM chrome ones to replace them.

Thanks prisoner, I'll tell him about them, albeit I think he's set on chrome ones in mind.

That’s cool. I was only asking $300 for all to get rid of them. I have 3 caps. The other one was stolen or fell off. They are plastic and easy to order

I like the black 22's on his truck and I would sell the extra set that came with the truck, but he wants OEM chrome since the truck has quite a bit of chrome trim on the exterior.

They are somewhat utilitarian and no doubt a plushmobile for it's day and will ride as good as anything sold today if he keeps the air ride alive.
I deleted the air ride on our Navigator and curse I chose that route every time I hit a bump or when towing.
It's just not the same as it was but it puked in the winter and I spent too much time chasing down the problem and gave up.

I just picked up an 07 escalade, not the Ext, and I'm loving it! I bought it for the engine. I've heard about some of the problems that arise and I'll deal with them when it comes up.

I have a set of stock chrome wheels if he's interested, 2 tires are dated 2017, the other 2 are dated from 07, but have lotsa tread, only had 56000 on the car. $200 and the ride and he can have em.

Sorry, don't have pics on the tablet, but here's the link

I used a company called busfreighter.com, had rims, only rims in boxes shipped from nor cal to so cal for $80 bucks. They throw em in the storage area of greyhound busses so if u have a bus depot near by you're golden.

I can get him more pics this weekend if he wants

Thanks braindead. Just got off the phone with my son. He wants to sell his extra wheels first before buying a chrome set for the Escalade. He needs to get new set of wheels for the Honda S2000 race car project first, track opens April 1st, so priority is to get the car ready.:)

My wife drives the poor man's version, a stripped down 2004 Avalanche. White with grey on back, no cladding. She loves the thing. Looking to buy a newer version in a year or so, and then hand it down to daughter for college. They like that it can tow, be locked up, or be a pickup.
