Family member has a 2006 Chevy 2500 diesel that is need of new headlight housing as the OEM have fogged up from the inside.

There are tons of options on eBay, has anyone purchased a set they would recommend? Not opposed to swapping out to HID/LED with the right housing.

I polished mine & installed some bright LED’s. I preferred the stock housings. Was bright AF!!

i did some cheapos from ebay, i think they were around $85 for the 4 housing set, and came with bulbs. They were so so, one of my lowers isnt sealed and the coating is starting to flake on them. I did get the dark housings which i think make it look better than the factory reflectors.

I noticed my neighbors look better than mine, and we did them roughly around the same time. I'll have to hit him up and see what he got.

I still have my stock headlights and markers. I'll eventually shine them up and either sell or put back on, for now they are boxed.

I'm having good luck with Anzo.
These look pretty good but aren't cheap by any means.

How long did you get out of them before they started flake/fog up? I've been telling my family member to sell the truck (LBZ duramax but 2WD) and buy a 1500 since they have another duramax dually. If they aren't thinking of keeping it for that long I'm thinking this may be a viable option but don't want issues a few months in.

I haven't messed with LED lighting. I've always ran HIDs from DDM Tuning which can require a harness and some more wiring rather than just plug and play. I figured LED would be the same program but if there is a true plug and play LED that works well and is brighter, I'd be interested in grabbing them along with the new housings.

oh it was a couple of years. If you're slapping some new ones on to sell it, it'll be just fine.

I have the spyder brand ones on my gmc and they are pretty good quality. Had the cheap ones before. They are cheap for a reason.

I have them on two pickups both are less than a year. One headlamp was fogging and got filled will water somehow needing replaced but the other 3 are just fine.

TYC is a good stock replacement. The light patterns and output suck on all the cool looking aftermarket housing's

I used Spyder on my 04, and then when my stocks started getting nasty on my 13, i just went right to spyder, and would do again.

I ended up going with the TYC headlights and running lights based on the recommendations herein and reviews I read. The Spyder are euro lights which on a cat eye would look odd in my opinion.

I'll report back as I'm sure I will have to end up installing them.
