If there is such a thing as a barn find dirt bike. My neighbor had this old bike sitting outside for years. I finally convinced him to let me have it to do a rebuild. It appeared to be a full Pro Circuit built bike. Suspension, linkage, motor, pipe, bearings all around,
etc. the story is it was built for Ken Block...who knows? Any way $3k later and it’s a 1999 Ricky Carmichael 1999 MX DeNations bike. I know it’s a 250 not a 125, but the year is right. I’ve been waiting for a buddy to make me the American flag side panels graphics but I could not wait to ride it. [emoji106]

Dirt bikes are fun to rebuild because it’s just swapping parts. Not fabrication skills needed for these years of bikes.

Came out sweet! I had a similar KX250 that was a full FMF magazine build bike. I was about 15 at the time and it was a handful. I learned a lot about headshake on that bike.

Is that pic at Cahuilla?

Haha! Head shake noted. Nothing will ever be as bad as my 04’ RM250. The Suzuki head shake is the real deal!

Yes Cahuilla. Wednesday’s are absolutely the best up there. [emoji106]

Good find for sure! I worked at Pro Circuit during that year. There was two things that always made Ricky's bike stand out. One was the seat foam was always cut super thin and two was the footpegs where higher than normal. If you want to get the motor done his former mechanic (Chad) has a shop called Watt's perfection in North Carolina.

eh, toss a scotts on there and be done with it. I wont ride a dirt bike without a stabilizer anymore. I have an 02 KX250 frame with an 02 KX500 engine in it, i run a scotts on that one for sure. She gets a little fun in 5th in the open desert.

The head shake was likely due to my 15 year old self being way too small/light for the bike. I'm sure you will be fine but as sintax said a stabilizer will help if needed.

I ride Cahuilla a few times a year, typically stick to more local tracks (Perris/LACR/Glen Helen/State Fair) but need to make another trip down there. I'll ping you next time I head out.
