I don't understand why these things always have to look like fishing lures.

with no helmet.....i guess the guys head and neck are as hard as a rock? At 21' that thing must've been trimmed on the ragged edge. If that thing hickup'd he's been tumbling and would've been wishing he's had a helmet instead of looking cool n easy for the advertisement. Think he had a lanyard? would it have mattered?

Jesus Christ. Probably has NOTHING to do with "looking cool". I would never wear a helmet in a pleasure or fishing boat. He was wearing a lifeline style vest and the boat is equiped with a lanyard just to satisfy your babysitting requirements.

Those bass boats are typically a pad bottom and are designed to ride on that pad without a bunch if trim. If you watch the video you can see its at fairly neutral trim while it appears to be running pretty close to on the pad at least.

That video wasn't of the actual run. Merc test drivers have a LOT of seat time. Don't worry about their skills. And becasue they're "at work", you can bet they're following safety protocol.

But of course you need a couple thousand dollar prop to go that fast.

Btw how’s that thing running? Have you gotten a chance to leg it?

Running good! Just havent legged it. 88 was sea trial number. Kinda jumped into desert season early and missed some seat time. Oh well. Looking forward to spring and playing with props.

A re-rig right? Do you guys still have the 18'10" mold? I havent seen many of them vs the 20 footers.

My bass boat does 100mph with a 225promax with 2 on board. Only 95 with this prop though. That v8 is a pig...0-30 in 6 seconds...yuk
DBR to the white phone please.

Bullets, Allisons and even Gamblers are extremely fast to begin with. Those #'s im sure are dry with no gear and minimal fuel. We are tournament fisherman and all that matters. Going from 1 to 2 guys adds tons of drag and will drop mph considerably.

I remember waiting for blast off one morning and some guys couldn't get their old merc to start and had to pull the lid and pull start it. Sounded like a poorly tuned Banshee sitting there. We blew by him later on mid lake till he layed it to the wood and put us on jacks. No doubt it was running 85 plus with 2 guys in full tournament mode.

Actually, you would be very amazed how well it takes big chop. Granted, a Bullet is made of balsa wood core unlike an Allison. I have seen a Bullet cracked in half. Never an Allison.

With an XS they don't have a sportmaster. I don't understand why all that motor and boat and no sportmaster to get them higher out of the water?

Anything above 85 in a boat that size is a rush. I like the stroker bass boats also. I thought they were a splash but not sure of what. When I start fishing (when I’m to broken to get behind a boat) I’ll be looking for a stroker, bullet, Allison or something fast

Around here on the GC, it's mainly bay fishing and those who try bassboats in the salt water bays get wet and broken.

Great for lakes and rivers but not the windy open bays with rollers out of nowhere when tides and wind change
