Hi RDP brain trust,so ole faithful 2005 Dodge 3500 CTD a/c compressor clutch has failed. The A/C in the truck in the last 5+ years has been less than pleasant(maybe needed a recharge…don’t know).
So I purchased a new compressor, dryer and while I’m this deep a new serpentine belt, tensioner, and idler pulley(truck has 120+k miles).
Besides evacuating and recharging the system is there any special tricks to priming the compressor with the correct oil?
Last weekend I did the serpentine kit swap and now need to tackle the A/C parts. I’ll probably take it to a qualified shop for the recharge ,but would like to do the dirty knuckle blessing part. Thanks for any advice!
