Looking for a custom engine cover as on the picture for a 496 mag Ho engine. I have one need a second one. Please let me know where I can get one or if someone selling one? Thanks

Might be a dumb question but it's worth a shot... Has anyone removed their closed cooling system off a 496 and convert to raw water cooling? If so, are there any benefits/disadvantages?

Anyone have any advice on what size gears to run in a 12 degree casale. The boat its going in is a 1970 hondo flatbottom with a 496 BBC making around 700hp. the gears in it right now are 1.15 gears but they are eaten up with rust and I was wondering if i should switch out gears to a higher gear...

Just FYI, I have early Merc 496mags and found that Dayco 89009 is an exact match for the 6 ribbed idler pulley ($15.06 on ebay instead of $35.87 for cheapest Merc ebay price) and that Dayco 89017 can be used ($10 on ebay instead of $27.26 for cheapest Merc ebay price) in place of the 2 smooth...
