    1960 VW Baja Bug

1960 VW Baja Bug PROJECT car. I bought it intending to make it run only to find out someone had purposely filled the engine with water. I pulled the engine apart only to find that it had not been run prior to the water being introduced into it, so I bought new pistons and cylinders, gaskets...

Traditional an fittings vs push lock

After looking at how much less expensive the conventional AN fittings are, even though the braided stainless hose costs more, I think we will go with the conventional braided stainless, which will keep it matching what's currently in the boat. Not to mention we are working with -10 and -12...

Traditional an fittings vs push lock

I went over to my friend's hanger at the airport yesterday to look at the plumbing on his turbo boat that I had previously told him was not correct(some of the water lines were only -8). Made a list of fittings, and now considering buying pushlock. I am going to mention to him prior to...

    How fast will it go?

Sort of a small cam for a BBC, and wide lobe separation. If it's as heavy as it looks it won't be real fast.

    Anybody use seagull repellers?

Believe me, I have given that some serious thought! I have a great location with the exception that my place probably sustains the most damage from the surf boats.

Any interest in a Holley Carburetor rebuild thread?

I stayed out of the shop the hot months this year. The carburetor I was expecting to come in still has not showed up, so I've been just working on engines recently.

    Anybody use seagull repellers?

I have been thinking about making something like that for my dock. Many years ago when I was still in CA, I had a cat or cats that would use my front lawn for a bathroom. I rigged a motion sensor to the sprinkler system and problem was solved.

    Help me understand the mentality

I always wanted to mount a cannon to my upper deck and load it with ice or something.

Are River Rippers Making a Comeback

There are a limited number of places to watch out for in Parker. My neighbor has a very expensive 27 Eliminator with a 6 drive on it, no issues. I can point out all the known spots and a couple of sort of unknown ones.

    '77 Howard GN 20'

Very good point, mine are done that way to keep the strength intact. I didn't look at his photo that closely, I was just happy I had shared something that has worked so well for me.

Glad it made enough sense for it to work out. You could also mill a round area, but square is how my current machinist friend prefers to do it.

    Service recommendations in parker.

Try my guy, as I said, he is possibly on the lake right now training, but of the tree guys I have used he is the best.

    Service recommendations in parker.

Go ahead and call my friend Javen for the trees. He is taking this week off prepping for the jet ski world championships at the end of the week in Havasu, but he will provide top quality work and clean up. Distinctive Fire and Land Management. You won't be sorry, I can promise you. Likely...

    RIP Don Taylor

Crap, that is not at all the way I would have liked to have heard that news! We did a lot of skiing together at Puddingstone training for races.

Any interest in a Holley Carburetor rebuild thread?

Yep, would have liked more information, but not going to do quite as much of that with a standard Holley.
