If you want more tongue weight, you need to raise the hitch. Lowering the hitch only puts more weight on the front axle and lightens the tongue weight.

I use my work truck 99% of the time and the Wife’s Escalde when going to the River so it pretty much sits and gets started once a week to circulate the fluids and charge the batteries. I mainly use it for my fifth wheel about 4-5 times a year pretty much.
