I run #3 till 100mph then bump down to 2 for the 110+mph runs. Anything above 3 seems to be loose but doesn’t add mph…and it gives my lower major cavitation burn behind the water pickup.
My evolution of engines over the years. The 871 motor I built myself for my first jet boat. The DCB came with a Teague motor with a 1471, I ultimately upgraded it to a Boostpower motor with a 8.3 whipple.
Never swim in the ocean near river outlets. That’s where they generally hang out, but they also swim out past the break where they can see better and conserve energy not being in the current. But generally they stay around the river mouth.
Replaced my axles at Adrenaline last year. I had the same cracks at the mount to the frame. $2k including painting them and a couple other items changed.
More efficient overall, much better cruise and midrange. Definitely better prop to get on plane with, but for all out top speed the correct 4 blade will edge it out on the top end. Because of the traction a 5 blade gets, it is harder on the drive.
Best service hands down. 2 hours from my living to sitting at the pool at the Wynn. Only way to fly. The Phenom they charter is great for 4 people to non serviced locations as well.
