Well, now that I am no longer a Hallett owner and getting over the seller regrets, I am thinking about a much smaller boat. I had a '75 MasterCraft back in my younger days when I did a lot of skiing. Now I'm considering an '82 MasterCraft as it's much smaller and easier to handle for old people. Plus the one I've found is about as pristine as you will ever find for a 40+ year old boat. Probably won't be skiing anymore, but it's a great little cruising boat when there are very few boats during the week when we like to go. Here are a couple of pics of it.

Ya know….I Really like the look of that boat and I’m not into small boats at all. Pretty bad ass. Love the clean look and the stars.

That is super clean.
Personally I would not want to deal with the old power train. I would buy something turn key like this and not worry about wrenching.

Normally I wouldn't either, but this guy has done a ton of stuff to this boat and it is super clean and evidently runs pretty good. It's hard to hurt those pleasurecraft marine 351's as they are damn near bulletproof. People get 1500 or more hours on them and they still purr.

Well, I've had this boat on the back burner since early last year. The guy just now decided to sell it. Pretty good timing.

That boat is classic. I don't know how that carpet around the engine isn't all stained. I don't think I could ever go back to a boat I cant wash down from bow to bilge.

BITCHEN Master Craft!! I love those boats! Seeing yours takes me right back to skiing at Lake Poinsett as a kid! I always thought having a Master Craft would automatically elevate my ski-ability and give me half a chance at landing the Golden Goddess. 🤣

My first one was the classic Red, White and Blue, but I fell in love with the sand and apricot (orange) many years ago. They only built that color for two or three years.

That thing is bitchin, I've had 14 boats so far and the one I had the most fun with was my direct drive nautique. Carbed 351, velvet trans, easy access to work on, easy to pull with the truck, etc...

I'm a believer that less is more sometimes

My thoughts EXACTLY!!! Thank you. To be honest, I was actually pretty tired of moving that big ole Hallett in and out. I think back and realize I probably didn't use it more because it was such a hassle to me to pull it out, launch it, retrieve it, clean it and then put it away. Don't get me wrong, my 270 was and still is a great boat, it was just too much boat for me.
