I'm a bit of a nature nut. I have multiple hummingbird feeders around my house. I have so many photos and videos of the visitors. I don't really get out the phone to grab hummingbird videos anymore. But today while out grilling some steaks I saw this Hummingbird moth going to town on our jasmine plant. The plant is in full bloom and it smells great. Probably drawing in these guys for miles.

As a kid when we traveled to the mainland humming bird always was a fascination for me. Now your photos….Wow, the colors. Don’t think that I have ever seen that before. Thanks for posting. 👍

Most times there is one who locks down the feeder or feeders. But sometimes there are so many that they can’t hold it down all the time.

Crappy night cell pics.
And the jasmine is right near the back door, so everytime we go out we get seriously buzzed.

Not sure why, but ours are way to territorial to let that many feed, they chase each other off like crazy.
Those things get brutal towards one another.
Seen and heard them thump into one another.
One time they thumped so hard one of them hit the ground. Bad news for him. They had created such a scene my dogs were watching the scuffle, when that one hit the ground....

Slightly better nest pic.
If she ever lays eggs I'll post.
I wish we had more birds, but its impressive to watch them joust.

I'm a nature nerd as well. We get a ton of wildlife at our house. I have an embarrasing amount of videos of our visitors, but I love it.

Cracks me up when they imitate a bullfrog croaking. They're my favorite bird.

To me it seems like they have a "time out" period, usually around dusk. They all get a belly full just before hunkering down for the night.
Funny/sad fact. They need to eat before they hunker down or they will pass out and possibly die if not feed while roosting. Too fast of a metabolism to keep them nurtured through a night.
