Barracks trail for sure running south to north. Don't discount thinking you will make it up the sand hill if you try to do a round trip. Running south to north you go down the sand hill. We spent an hour helping an asshat Overlander truck off the hill that thought they could make it. We waited 20 minutes while dirt bikes made attempt after attempt at the sand hill.

You need to drop a trailer at the north end. Its worth the hassle, its a epic, not to miss trip. Stay at Parry lodge, go to the free movie in the 100 year old barn, get a pork chop at the Rocking V.

Not sure of your return home route, but there is a cool graded route from Kanab to Kodachrome park and then down toward Page via Cottonwood Canyon Rd. The route pops out onto the highway just above Big Water. Epic ride.

So drop trailer on north trail head, then drive SxS to south trail head on street?

No its too far. Barracks starts at Pink Corral sand dunes and ends at Mt Camel about 20 miles away from Kanab. You will need another vehicle to coordinate the drop and shuttle.

Ive been to some amazing places in this country. I can't say any are more breathtaking than Zions.
I could take 1000 pictures and it wouldn't explain the beauty. We did it pretty much all day in mostly wet snow.
Im sure the drive part is no where close to the hiking scenic stuff

Hog canyon. Without question the best trail we've ever been on. I think we did maybe 1% of how big it actually is. There's are forks in road constantly.
We took a 'extremely challenging' marked trail. Had to turn around. Ridiculous rock drop offs.
Sand dunes and barracks tomorrow

Good move. Ice and snow on the trail best to avoid the sheer cliff passages. Not worth the consequences.
