Lots of info floating out there. Nothing in main stream media yet but small media is saying 75% of the remaining workforce didnt hit yes by todays deadline.

Supposedly doors are locked and badge access is turned off.

I wonder if Elon would let my son work remotely? He's 16, into some stuff called coding and other computer wizardry...and would probably do it for free. My son has two idols...Nikola Tesla, and Elon Musk. I don't see him getting a job with one of the two;)

I've always thought that him buying Twitter and then just hitting the off switch and walking away would be the best thing that could happen for Humanity at this stage. He's obviously way smarter than all of us, maybe that's what his plan has been all along?

If you listen to his interviews on Rogan, he is definitely on a whole different level, and probably from a whole different planet. Lol.

He could piss away all that Twitter purchase money and not even feel an impact, and probably wouldn't even care one bit. Who knows what that guy is up to.

Banks loaned and are owed $13 Billion. They may have a say in the matter.

The platform as Musk envisions, unlimited free speech with no content moderation, does not support a business model reliant upon mainstream advertising.

It will be interesting to see his planned new business model as it is unimaginable that he undertook this change in the product without understanding the obvious negative impact this change would have on financial performance.

I think Twitter could operate with 100 dedicated employees. Prove me wrong...

I wish I was one of them because Elon would make them wealthy beyond their wildest dreams...
I bet 20-30 hardcore coders could do it on Mountain Dew and hot pockets and musk saying they is taking them to a strip club afterwards on him

I've had a Twitter account for years and don't remember ever "tweeting". They have one of the largest RFP/RFQ (request for proposal/request for quotation) lists anywhere. Not just for municipal and federal construction but for most industries wanting to bid government work or supply. I really hope the "new Twitter" keeps this section going.

It’s all good.

Amir clicked “agree” and he doesn’t want anyone bothering him.

IMO, this was his plan. He wanted to reduce headcount and only have dedicated employees.
No way that place needed 8k employees. Musk wanted to get down under 2000.
Exactly. This plan resolves a lot of issues. Firstly it gets rid of all employees that are not fully committed to their jobs. Secondly it also lets those same employees leave on there own, and Twitter does not have to supplement there unemployment benefits. It’s pretty dam Genius if you ask me!

Twitter isn’t going anywhere. From what I’m hearing Elon wants to retool the platform to not only be a town square for thought, but also a marketplace to compete with Amazon, Alibaba, Walmart, etc. There’s a reason Elon will be the worlds first trillionaire!

8 dollar blue check is how.

He'll also end up adding features of a payment platform like paypal/zel/cashapp and get the fees from that.

Musk isn't a dumbass looking to rely on "advertising" dollars

He's weeding out the weak woke snowflakes by getting them to quit, instead of having to lay them off. He'll end up moving the HQ to TX would be my guess

This is how you flush out a toxic work culture.

Also how you drive the company into BK and start restructuring. He doesn’t want to back pay all the meditation gurus and latte’ bar bills.

🤷‍♂️ The more he does, the more tempted I am to actually get an account. lol. All those x employees should freshen up their skills… maybe take up coding or something.

For over 20 years he's been a pretty heavy hitter. Before PayPal, his "small" startup was "X Bank" or something like that. It grew into PP, but was started with millions he made from another startup he had with his brother in the late 90's.

The guy is far from stupid. I don't know how he'll make Twitter into a winner, but he seems to have a pretty good grasp on making big money.

I've been saying the same thing about FB. 87000 people to run a website?

How do you find that? I've never seen it before.

Everyone’s talking about twitter firing everyone but all tech is firing people. Meta 11k jobs lost, Amazon 10k jobs and more next year…. You don’t see the media blasting Zuck and ceo of Amazon….

I agree you can get by easily with 2000 people to run twitter. They aren’t manufacturing products it’s all coding.

I signed up the day he took over. I have no idea how to use it.
I read, enjoy & learn all your posts over the years, but gotta tell you you would have been frustrated posting Twitter early on. Think it was 140 symbols per post. LOL

No one thought My Space would disappear, or Snap Chat. If it’s not trendy and the kids aren’t using it, it will die and there’s nothing he can do to stop it. I never used Twitter and never will, nothing to do with Musk or anyone else, I don’t use Tic Toc either. 🤷🏼‍♂️ I just don’t get it and I don’t feel like putting in the effort to get it. I think it was a horrible investment for him.

Anyone who did not complete the pledge will be given 3 months severance pay and it will documented as a voluntary resignation. I heard a rumor that a group of employees will try to sue for having to sign this pledge. My HR Legal buddy stated no way they win. Agreeing to a pledge to support the companies strategic direction, work hard etc will not win.

The pledge is also a mandate to work 80 hours a week. Might be a labor law or two that violates. 🤷

That was never stated. He stated extra hours might be required to meet objectives.

Going forward, to build a breakthrough Twitter 2.0 and succeed in an increasingly competitive world, we will need to be extremely hardcore. This will mean working long hours at high intensity. Only exceptional performance will constitute a passing grade,” Musk said

He also had to close all offices today due to employee vandalism that has started within the offices.
