It isn't a secret that DCB has been working on a 42, the project actually started sometime ago. There have even been a few concept drawings released here and there, but as we all know in development of any sort things kind of ebb and flow as things get closer. Well I'm happy to say things are not only close they are "Danger Close" with the first boat predicted to be on the water this year in 2024! It's still a little early in the game to be picking the the exact day for the "debut" but the current projection or hope is that it will be in the water in Key West in November!

As we examine the renderings you can see that the sponsons are a little larger in relationship to the overall size of the M37. In talking with Tony C, he claims this is going to increase rough water ability even further while maintaining (or increasing relatively speaking) the blistering acceleration of the M37R.

The boat itself is wider and the cockpit is wider along with it! They are offering a true 8 seat experience, or a really interesting 6 seat configuration. Historically when performance cats were running canopies, nobody and I mean nobody wanted to sit in the middle seat in the back. It was about like sitting center stage of a wind tunnel. Inversely the larger wrap around windshields have made the high speed experience much more enjoyable for passengers, but anybody that has done it will tell you with the new designs the two least desirable seats in the house are the rear outside seats. DCB was smart to offer a 6 seat option on the new 42 with dual stair cases on the outsides. It now gives you great options of ingress / egress from the boat without tearing up the upholstery on either side of the boat!

From the renderings themselves we aren't going to get too much more, but we can see that they pushed the sponson hatches a little further forward than the M37 (respectively) and they added a center hatch for storage in front of the windshield!

As you can see from the final side rendering the boat does stay true to the lines of DCB's latest offering the M37R, and we are very excited to see how it performs!

It should be noted that hull number - is going to long time friends Kris and Shelby Hansen! They also purchased the first M37R from DCB as well!
