Mercury Marine is garnering wide spread acclaim for the development and production of its new 600 horsepower Verado outboard. Mercury announced it was named a 2022 Consumer Electronics Show Innovation Award honoree for its 600-hp monster engine. The company was recognized in the vehicle and transportation category.
“We are thrilled to be recognized with a CES Innovation Award for the second consecutive year,” Dave Foulkes, CEO of Mercury parent Brunswick, Corp. “This award is a testament to the world-class Mercury team. Our disciplined, design-thinking approach to developing new products and the execution of our ACES strategy continues to elevate the future of boating.”
“It is an incredible honor for Mercury Marine to win another CES Innovation Award,” said Chris Drees, Mercury Marine president. “We are looking forward to showcasing two of these award-winning engines in the Brunswick exhibit at CES 2022.”
Mercury’s 1st Mate system was recognized at CES earlier this year, earning best of innovation in the in-vehicle entertainment and safety category and an Innovation Award in the vehicle intelligence and transportation category. The Mercury 1st Mate Marine Safety and Security System fits in the palm of your hand with overboard alerts, distress messaging and theft-deterrent functionality. Utilizing wireless communication between wearable fobs, an engine hub and your mobile device, the 1st Mate system combines boat safety with convenience while providing a safe alternative to the traditional mechanical emergency stop switch and lanyard.
