DCB is getting an early jump on the show circuit for the second year in a row by exhibiting at Barrett Jackson! Over the Holidays I took a trip down to San Diego to meet with Jeff Johnston (their new marketing manager) and to see what DCB is doing during the "Off Season."

Upon walking in the showroom I couldn't help but spot this old pre mono shock CR 125! A lot of people don't know, but Dave Hemmingston actually came from building Sand Cars and offroad vehicles before he started rigging boats. I'm not sure if this was a little tribute to that heritage, but that's more or less how I took it, and I thought it was pretty damn cool.

After my meeting with Jeff, Tony took me around the shop to show me what they had going on. I was pretty surprised to see how busy they were on the service side of things. They had four or five boats in there that were in their for everything from Annuals, to going through the valve train on a Merc 1350.

I am not sure what all you have to do to actually get to the valve train?

I believe this boat was in on consignment and had sold. Don't quote me on that, but for some reason I remember Tony telling me that. I have always had a thing for orange boats, and this one didn't disappoint.

You guys might remember an article I did awhile back talking about "Market Confidence" and dealers for DCB actually building boats for stock. Preston at Horizon Motorsports was one of those dealers, and his boat is now complete and was ready to go to Barrett Jackson as part of their display.

This part of the article might come across as a little bit of an after thought, but I just received the pics from Tony C at Barrett Jackson, and I couldn't think of a better way to conclude it then to show you their display and talk about the show a little.

I asked Tony how he felt about the Barrett Jackson show compared to the more traditional boat shows, and he said that they had extremely good results with last years show and had sold two boats at the show. This year he anticipated another great show citing that so far they had "great crowds with a lot of interested parties."

If you happen to find yourself in Scottsdale and visit the Barrett Jackson auction they are located at Booth LUX-1! Make sure you stop by and check out their latest and greatest!

As a side note to all of you M31 - M35 owners out there, DCB is working on a tooling project right now that will give you the option of a major upgrade to your boats! I'm sworn to secrecy on it for the time being, but as it develops you will read about it on RDP first.
