As some of you know one of my specialties is plantation shutters. Historically I have only offered a grade A product with a price to match however some new products (read that as imported product) have developed over the last few years and they finally have gotten all the bugs out of the program. I now feel comfortable offering a price point product. The savings are substantial. to the point that it now makes plantation shutters affordable.

Here is an example of a job I just quoted for 7 windows.

My standard product that I have been offering for years came in at $2560.00 The import product came in at $1728.00.

The difference is the import product is a composite VS. 100% basswood locally made product. That being said there is also a 100% basswood import product the price lies somewhere in between the prices above. If anyone is interested in getting a quote you can PM me your measurements for a ball park figure. I have to say that I have been pretty impressed with the composite product and a have a friend that has been selling it for 6 years now with no complaints. Basically they hold up and look the part. I was very reluctant to jump on the band wagon these last few years, wanted to give the product some time on the market to prove itself. That being said its good to go and offers some substantial savings

Most likely a little bit less than the price I gave you before, that being said its still a specialty shape and cannot be done in a composite. still gonna be pricey.

Prices start at $17.00 and go up from there. Lots of different products, installation options and frame styles.

Get the fuck outa here LOL

What can be done for 8' sliders???

I hate curtains. The blinds we have now are a royal pain in the ass. I'd go bare, but I think we have a perve behind us :D
Bypass track (like a closet door) bifold (like acordian 2 panel hindgeg to the left, 2 panels hindged to the right) extra charge for track hardware.

Seriously, doing business with you was a pleasure. You would not believe the horror stories I have been hearing lately on funding issues.

It would be ironic if you purchased a great set of plantation shutters and one were to fall and cut the front of your foot off.

Those shutters look great.

New Product, motorized shutters. These are great if you have windows that are to high to reach. I can do them on any type of shutter. Its around $100. a window extra but totally worth it and cool as shit

Perfect Tilt Solar Shutters

PerfectTilt Solar takes motorized shutters one-step further by utilizing the concept of renewable energy. A thin solar panel attached to the battery pack harnesses energy from the sun to supply power for the batteries. This eliminates the hassle of having to remove the batteries every few months to recharge them, which also becomes especially convenient for hard-to-reach windows and specialties such as sunbursts with horizontal louvers, arches and rakes. The use of rechargeable batteries also helps limit the amount of toxic dead batteries being thrown away each year.

PerfectTilt solar

? First eco-friendly remote shutter
? Using the concept of renewable energy, combined with the superior craftsmanship and appearance of Norman shutters
? Also available for specialties such as sunbursts with horizontal louvers, arches and rakes.
? Pre-set angled positions ? complete control of light and privacy
? Single or multi-panel control
? One remote for all panels, sleek and easy to use
? Especially convenient for hard to reach windows
? Everyday efficency without the hassle of changing batteries
? Solar device pre-installed on the shutter panel facing the sun
? No expensive and invasive hardwiring required
? Manual control possible
? Smooth and quite motor and gear movement

that seems like a really good deal considering crappy home depot blinds will run you $60-100 a peice.

Sounds like they run roughly 275 a peice:thumbsup:cool:

I would love to do this to my living room but it might be in the 2015 budget:swear:p

Its the cost of the shutter (depending on size and options) plus an extra $100 for the automation per opening. If you want a smoking deal fill the house up, it will give me some serious wiggle room on the pricing.:thumbsup

Another cool option, let's say you have cheasy track home window sills (like in the 1st pic). This option is called a sill cap and can really dress up a window on the cheap.

I am in Upland CA, Havasu is not a problem. measure up your windows and I can work you a up quote. I can ship them to you and walk you through the install if you want to save even more money or I can come out and install them. Either way no one in there right mind will touch my prices for this caliber of product.

We moved into a new/older home this past year. Plantation shutters are part of our long-term plan. that being said, is it best to replace the window first, if you are going to, befor having the shutters installed?

Also, do you do finish work ie. take down the brick surrounding the fireplace, install a mantle and build shelving on either side for AV components and pictures, etc.?

Thanks.

As far as putting in shutters before you replace the windows, it depends on the type of windows you are putting in and the desired installation style of the shutter. I would need more info and a pic of the existing window to give you a solid answer to that.

Taking down bricks is not finish work LOL but yes I do mantles, shelves, cabinets ect....

I'm not really looking for shutters, more for wooden or composite blinds for two sets of French doors. I might consider some shutters if it's not too much more. I have two French doors that attach the living room to an office and a bedroom. The paneling in the living room is Redwood stained dark (might be Heart Pine, Jeff says). The office is dark wood also, which is no problem, but the bedroom is Natural Pine. So I'm trying to find blinds that are cherry/mahogany stain on one side and pine/natural on the other. I really don't want curtains, but that might be the route I have to go :( Any suggestions? Window openings for each door is 66" by 21"

I can't even seem to figure out how to do a decent search for this problem.

Shutters for a french door will cost quite a bit more than blinds. I can custom color match stains but also have a wide selection of stock stain colors. As far as blinds that are different colors on each side of the louver, I would think that might be possible in a higher end line of blinds. I taken down a shit load of blinds over the years but I don't recall seeing any that were different colors like that. Worst case senario you could have some made with 2 louvers in each space.

I've been getting some pm's asking about sliding glass door options. Here is one option its called a bifold track. Very functional except for the panels do not open up all the way flat to the wall. It takes a certain room/furniture layout for this to really kick ass.

aefe54d9-1692-0852.jpg

aefe54d9-16b0-4fb6.jpg

This is called a Z Frame, sits half in the window half out. Very clean look if you have the window depth for louver clearance. For RDP friends and family I do not charge extra for these up grades:)
