When I wa a kid my dad and I drove up to BC Canada to fish.
The rental boat operator refused to rent us a boat because the fish wern't biting.
He had the old Evinrude 2 stroke outboards on his rentals.
We got to talking, and we asked him what is the secret to getting around all the hassles of owning a 2 stroke outboard.
In those days 2 strokes were hard to start, hard to keep running right.
The old jasper gave hands on training how to take care of a 2 stroke.
Ya drain the carb and gas tank after each use, ya use fresh gas, fresh oil and never too much in the mix,, start the motor cold with it trimmed all the way up,,, clean the plug all the time,, keep the motor dry all the time,,,
The old guy was really cool.
And yeah he was right.
