Shockwave 28' Deck Build for the Dirtbag Family

Taping started today with Dave laying out some lines. We made a couple slight changes in the afternoon to the transom which i hope turns out great. We are off and running and should be spraying on Monday. We will be taking pics of the whole process.

i made it in time today to watch him spray gel and some Blue down. Really nothing much for my eyest to see. How you guys make the fades and everything is beyond my comprehension. This whole process is completely amazing to me. I love what these Boatbuilders do. And working with Bob, and Dave, and Jen has just been awesome. There really isnt anything they cant do. Watching other boat owners come in the shop and seeing how they are treated is pretty cool. Bob stands behind his work and its easy to see why he survived and is putting boats out. Awesome company so far!

What i can tell you tho is that bob doesnt charge enough. I have been watching the operation intently and the amount of work craftmanship pride and service put in his boats is off the charts. Bobs customer service is amazing. I highly recommend if you are in the boat market to go down talk to bob see how he operates and put an order in. Theres a reason he made it through the recession without going under like so many other builders. Shockwave is very underrated and i think you can ask a lot of people here that would tell you the same

LOL all good, I know price can vary on so many different things.I did look at them when I was shopping so I know roughly what he is charging. I did really liked the boat. I already purchased a year and half ago. I would say go as big as you can on the motor.

Finishing up the balsa and fiberglass i think today and should be popping out of the mold next tuesday....gah i cant wait to see her.....also made the decision to go with the 600 sci as well!!!

Got to the shop too early to see the hull pulled today. Should have some more pics this afternoon i hope when she is put together. The deck is out and they were putting the gas tanks in the hull this morn

its a huge boat....sitting inside is just unreal....it feels way bigger than a Magic or Nordic IMO. I havent sat in anything else to compare. It feels like a 30 foot+

thanks man...i cant wait to see it in the sun let alone in the water. Im hoping for a possible thanksgiving weekend run in havasu but i think its a pipe dream haha. Finally got all the specs done with Bob last week. Still not exactly sure on the interior.

definitely wont make it. We told Bob if any business needs to jump in front of us it was no problem. She hasnt quite moved to rigging yet but maybe by the end of this week she will get over there. We are hoping to have her in havasu by the 2nd week of december. Keeping our fingers crossed.....once she moves to rigging Ill post some more pics. Im really happy with how the gel scheme turned out. I cant wait to see her in the sun

yep. Shes coming together nicely.....just hoping we did ok with the upholstery.....decided to try something simple and clean. No carbon fiber stuff. Tried to incorporate our gel design so we shall see how it turns out.....can always rip her out and try again in a couple years haha
