Dave,

I read the rules and somewhat understand, but one question I still have is how did boat 36 that runs a 65 mph breakout outrun 192 with ??? breakout? Did the average of the class hold 192 down, did he have mechanical problems, did he have a handicap start?

At the end of the day I'm happy an Outboard won overall, just having trouble understanding how the 192 didnt run away with it?

I gotta haul ass to Parker to get the last load of stuff but will get with you on it in a few hours when I get back.

I think the answer to your question though is staggered starts.

Thanks for posting the results, we'd love to see lap times. I have to say I'm a little depressed because we have to wait a year to do it again.

The faster your class runs, the more passes you need to make cleanly plus corner time can effect lap times
Sometimes you get a tow around the course with other boats and run a faster lap late in the race also
The Nordic team 192 boat is driven exceptionally well and is always a contender to win
The Nordic could pull two skiers around the course faster than the rest of the field
Why people will ride a bull or get behind a no bullshit boat and give the thumps up is beyond me

I don't suppose there is a results posting someplace that shows the drivers for each of the boats?

It's a great race for sure

Tried to run the 65 mph class this year but lost a Gearcase in prep on our 22 Daytona

The War Canoe was in need of a make over !
Seven seasons and four enduros takes its toll
We did several changes to the boat from years of a testing wish list
Been working on the boat since the 2013 race
From reshaping the bottom rails and pad to rasing the transom and rear deck area 5 inches
Re glassed the deck and dash
Added additional fuel tanks under the modified gunnels rails
Boat gets painted this weekend a 2016 corvette Daytona sunrise orange

The gear case explains why we didn't see your team in the race, someone posted a pic of a War Canoe shirt then didn't see anything after that.
Anyway look forward to next year. [emoji106]
Oh, and I have that same gantry and need to widen it, now I got an idea from your picture. [emoji6]

I am working on getting all that information.. It is a bit "cumbersome" in the words of Mr. Rankin, but I will get it up eventually.

Be cool to see what each entry is... I.E. Owner.. Hull MFG./Year hull type and what power/configuration Etc...

Give me Time Hambone and we will get that as well.

I might take you up on that! LOL

I guess not...

I am posting the Division results right now, and they have a name next to each boat #. I'm don't have all the other drivers information though, but if they would like their name in there with it, I'd be happy to add it!

First let me thank River Dave, Dave Rankin and the rest of the crew for a great race. I know it is tough to get the handicaps to work out. I ran the blue Sleek mod vp #128 in division 2. We ran a stock XR2 mercury which puts out 165 h.p. approx. The boat was set up with a special prop & lower unit to achieve the target 11 minute lap. We ran the pedal to the metal all the way with 40 gallons of gas aboard and just made the 11 minute with seconds to spare. As we burn up more gas, we slightly adjusted the speed because we went faster.
The first and second leg we were running with Brian fairly even, swapping the lead but mostly right behind. On the third leg, with 5 laps to go, I spun the splines off the prop. Emilio drove up river 5 miles with the truck and trailer, hauled out the boat, put on another prop and got back in the race for the last couple of laps. Our total lost time was about 33 minutes which was three laps. Without that delay we would of been right there with Brian at the end. His 400 hp versus our 165 hp with two different driving strategies really were equalized.
